Visual Mathematics

Visual Mathematics is a very simple and yet effective way of teaching certain mathematical concepts and heuristics such as geometry, fractions, and the drawing of models to solve problem sums.  Basically, it is the use of Microsoft PowerPoint software in the authoring mode where students could see the process as the teacher demonstrates and explain different concepts. The concept of Visual Maths was a joint collaborative project between Ms. Kathleen Lee & Mr. Tay Lee Yong.

It is easily done with minimal training for both teachers and students.  What you need is a good control of the mouse and remember a couple of short-cut keys and you are on your way to visualizing some of the mathematical concepts.

Special thanks to Mr. Low Wen Ping, a fellow teacher who is attached to The Teachers' Network who have helped coin the term "Visual Maths"
