Course Description - Automotive Technician is a two-year program designed to prepare students for placement as an apprentice technician or a student in a two-year vocational certification program. Course content includes shop safety practices, tool use and identification, use and maintenance of specialty equipment, brake systems, engines, transmissions, electronics, steering and suspension, heating and air conditioning, power trains, and engine performance. Business ownership and career opportunities are also included.	 Students are encouraged to become members of Skills USA/VICA and participate in leadership and professional activities. Student Qualifications Automotive Technician I Student must be able to understand and follow complex directions Student must enjoy working with his hands Student must be willing to follow safety guidelines Student must be willing to establish a good working relationship with instructor and class Automotive Technician II Student must have successfully completed Automotive Tech I Student must have recommendation from teacher |
