Course Description
Building Trades provides job specific training for entry level employment in five main trades relative to building careers: carpentry, bricklaying, residential electricity, painting and decorating, and plumbing. It also includes a study of business ownership, leadership, and career opportunities. Students receive Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Level I certification.  Students are encouraged to become members of Skills USA/VICA and participate in leadership activities and business professionalism.
Student Qualifications
Building Trades I
Student must be able to understand and follow directions.
Student should be on grade level.
Student must want to work with his hands.
Student must be willing to follow safety guidelines.
Student must be willing to establish a good working relationship with the instructor and class.
Building Trades 11
Student must have successfully completed Building Trades I

Student will participate in job training/ internship in spring semester
