Course Description
          Lawn Care is designed to prepare students to enter the career field of lawn care and maintenance. Students will learn to properly maintain lawns, shrubbery, and other ornamental landscaping plants. Content emphasizes safety and knowledge of correct procedures in landscaping applications, pruning, and the application of fertilizers and pesticides. The program is directed toward employment in grounds keeping operations for schools, hospitals, municipal, commercial and private services.
          Students are encouraged to join Future Farmers of America in order to participate in leadership and professional activities.
Student Qualifications
Lawn Care I
Student must have ARD to enroll in program.
Student must have desire to work outside
Student must be able to communicate with others.
Student must be willing to follow directions
Lawn Care II
Student must have successfully completed Lawn Care I
Student must have recommendation of instructor.
Class Requirements
Lawn Care I
Student must learn all safety rules and pass Safety Test with a 100
Student must be willing to wear uniform (provided)
Student must wear appropriate shoes
Student must maintain notebook throughout year
