Course Description
          Metal Trades is a two-year program where students receive job specific training for entry-level employment skills in metal forming, blueprint reading, drilling, turning, boring, milling, broaching, reaming, and operation of numerically controlled equipment.  Students are also instructed in business ownership, safety, leadership, and career opportunities.  Students in Metal I receive Associated Builders and Contractors(ABC) Level I certification.
          Students in Metal II are instructed in advanced techniques.  With successful completion of the course they receive Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC)advanced techniques.  They participate in job shadowing/ internship in the second semester.
Student Qualifications
Metal Trades I
Students should have a desire to work with their hands.
Students should have good hand-eye dexterity
Metal Trades II
Students must have successfully completed Metal Trades I
Student must have recommendation from the instructor.
Class Requirements
Metal Trades I/ II
Students will learn all safety rules and pass the Safety
   Test with a grade of 100.
Student will maintain a notebook throughout the year.
Student will read precision measuring instruments.
Student will be carrying materials.
Student will read blueprints.
Student will use of specialize machines and tool.
Students must be willing to do job shadowing/ internship
