Course Descriptions
          This course provides students with job specific training for entry-level employment related to petrochemical refinery careers.  Course content includes fundamentals of plant processing operations;  understanding the operations of separation, conversion, and polymerization units in refinery and chemical plants. 
          The course is dual credit with Lamar Institute of Technology.  It is recommended for students who are concurrently enrolled in Chemistry I.  Students are encouraged to become members of Skills USA/VICA and participate in leadership and professionals activities.
Student Qualifications
Petrochemical Plant Process I
Enrolled in Chemistry I or passed Chemistry I
Enrolled in Algebra II or passed Algebra II
Student should be dependable, honest, self-motivated             
        enthusiastic, and empathetic
Student must be willing to comply with dress code.
Good attendance required.
Must be willing to work with mentor
Must have pass TAAS.
Petrochemical Plant Process II
Student must have successfully completed PPP I
Student must have the recommendation of the teacher
Class Requirements
Petrochemical Plant Process I/II
Must maintain student notebook
Must be willing to be involved in competition
Must be willing to participate in field trips and team meetings
Must be willing to attend job-ready seminars
Must be willing to co-op in the summer
Must take the TASP test
