Welcome to my Prayer Page!

At times we all need someone to listen.
I have found that in prayer, you always
feel better, because hope is found here.
To pray has never hurt anyone, nor has
any person felt foolish, your beliefs
are yours and yours alone.

Prayer Book
Now the day is over,
Stars begin to peep,
Birds & beasts & flowers
Soon will be asleep.

Jesus, hear your children,
When we kneel to pray;
May your love & kindness
Always on us stay.

Adapted from a hymn by
S. Baring Gould (1834-1924)
Dearest Jesus, hear my prayer
Keep me in your loving care.
You are gentle, meek, & mild;
You were once a little child..

Adapted from a poem by
Charles Wesley (1707-1788)
Loving Shepherd of your sheep,
May your lamb in safety sleep;
Let your angels round me stand
None can take me from your hand.

Adapted from a poem by
Jane Eliza Leeson (1807-1882)
Hush! my dear, lie still & slumber
Holy angels guard your bed.
Heavenly blessings without number
Gently falling on your head.

Isaac Watts (1674-1748)
Good night! Good night!
Gone is the light;
But still God's love
Shines from above.

Adapted from a poem by
Victor Hugo (1802-1885)
Lord,
Keep me safe this night
And take away my fears,
May angels guard me
while I sleep
Till morning light appears..

Traditional
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray you, Lord,
your child to keep:
Your love be with me
Through the night
And wake me with the
morning light.

Traditional
God bless all those that I love;
God bless all those that love me;
God bless all those that love
those that I love,
And all those that love
those that love me.

New England Sampler
The moon shines bright,
The stars give light,
God bless you all,
Both great and small

Traditional
Through the night your angels
kept watch beside me
while I slept;
Now the dark has
passed away;
Thank you, Lord, for
this new day.

William Canton (1845-1926)
We thank you, loving Father,
For all your tender care,
For food and clothes and shelter
And all the world so fair.
