Night comes upon you, leaving you no choice but to wander about, unknowing of your path or direction. No moon, of course, to guide you; otherwise that totally kills my metaphor.
Anyway, you feel as if you're going to wander around in the darkness forever. Anything that comes to you, be it noise or the sharp pain of a sharp rock under your foot, seems more severe than it really is.
But there comes a time when the sun peeks beyond the horizon and through the trees, and at the very moment that it catches your eyes and warms your face, you know that you found yourself. It's sort of like with Sleeping Beauty. The village was supposed to be doomed to eternal sleep or something by the evil Queen. It just takes that one person to come in, slash through the sharp vines in glory and determination, and to be the savior. To kill the darkness and bring out the sunshine, vigor and life back into the lost being beneath it, who thought that things would be hopeless. All it takes is that one person, willing to fight the harsh darkness. To come upon that castle and relieve everything with a kiss. The assurance.
Who will be that prince?
It is that assurance that brings me vigor. To know you are clearly loved is the best comfort in times where things seem hopeless. All it takes is that kiss, that reassurance that love never dies, to bring back the sun from the depths of any seemingly eternal night.
