KIng of the Franks 768-814 Emperor of the West 800-814 , Earlier theunited Franks led by Charles Martel defeated the Moors who represented athreat to Christian Europe. This Frankish victory which took placebetween Pottiers and Tours in 732, halted the moorish conquests of thetime. The frankish impire was one of the largest of the time and comparedto the Roman conquests of land and people. Charlemagne subugated theSaxons became King of the Lombards and forcfully made converts toChristianity of many of the Pagen Trobes. Pope Leo the III in 800 crownedhim Emperor of the Romans, Which later became known as the Holy RomanEmpire.Charlemagnesponsered a revial of learning during his time. Arts, Sciences ect.Egbert the first Saxon King recieved his formal education at the court ofCharlemagne.Not longafter Egbert's consolidation of the English Empire in 828 the PagenNorsemen (Vikings;see Spurgeon Ancestry) began there attacks onChristendom. Striking first at England. The treaty of Verdum adopted in843 curbed this onslaught. When Charlemagne died he spilt his kingdom upamong his 3 sons. The domains of Charlemagn were reunited in 884 by theHoly Roman Emperior Charles III.(839-88)

Kentucy 6ft 6inchs tall,light complextion, gray eyes, light hair, and was a farmer. nancy e wasmarried to Amos Spurgin on 1-21-1864 at Mitchelville, Harrison Co.Missouri by George Burris Justice of the Peace. Amos died in Harrison Co,Missouri in 10-1874 or 75. Lemuel George was from Amos first wifeElizabeth as well as his siblings

Amos married firs ton 20 Oct.1817 to Elizabeth Burris. He obtained adivorce and married second 21 Jan ,1864 Harrison Co. Mo to Nancy JohnsonHogan.

Also my son Abel Spuirgon $5.00.Allso that all my real estateand personal property to be sold the first day of October 1873, terms ofsale:Real estate 1/3 down, the rest in 12 months by purchaser giving bondwith approved securities.( Same as above for personal items) Theremainder of the estate was to be divided between the 2 daughters,EuphomySmith and Elizabeth Johnson. I have taken out some of the legal mombo butthis is the basics of the well. Executor of Amos Spurgin Esate was T.J.Brooks. The will was probated in Bethany Mo. September 21,1874.
