More District Soccer Results

Class 4A, District 1 boys: Pace High School captured the district title on Friday with a 3-1 win over Crawfordville Wakulla in Tallahassee. Pace led the whole way, with Wakulla's lone goal coming with 3:40 left in regulation. Pace's offense was led by Josh Kelly with two goals and Kevin Lewis with a goal on a PK.  Pace fullback Jessie Finley sparked a superb defensive performance.  Sophomore goalie Jeff Benton tallied 7 saves in the match. The Patriots are now 23-0-3, and are scheduled to play their 1st Regional match on Feb. 12 at home against Suwanee. -- Bill M.

Class 4A, District 16 girls: Key West downed Cardinal Gibbons 4-2. Key West will face Lehigh at home on Tuesday. -- D. Fithian

Class 3A, District 8 girls: Quarterfinals on 2/3/99: Mulberry 6, Mckeel Academy 1. Frostproof 1, Winter Haven All-Saints 0 (PKs). Semi-Finals on 2/4/99: Santa Fe Catholic 7, Mulberry 0. Class 5A, District 3 boys and girls: Fletcher sweeps Stanton. Boys defeated Stanton 2-0 and girls defeated Stanton 6-1. -- J.R. Ross
