Durant slips past King
The good news for King coach Dave Outlaw is he doesn't have to hire a locksmith to let him in his house.
That's because the Lions (5-2) lost a 1-0 game to Durant (5-2-1), where his son, Grant, is a starting midfielder.
With his wife Cathy and daughter Beth - a starter for the Durant girls' team - in the stands pulling for Durant, Outlaw knew the next few days at home would not be pleasant if King won.
But he still was disappointed.
Shawn Wehrle's shot in the 74th minute from 20 yards out was saved by Colin Lake, but he couldn't hang on to the rebound, which was sent into the net by Josh Cline.
Brandon Cron had two chances to tie the game in the final three minutes. His first attempt came after an open shot from 15 yards just dribbled wide after beating Durant keeper Blake Dickenson. The second came on a header from a cross pass with less than a minute to go.
``This was a good way for us to get back on track,'' Durant coach David Peacock said.
