Lakeland Christian notes, 11/1/98

This from coach Dean Johnson of Lakeland Christian: His Vikings beat Seminole Presbyterian 5-2 in the District 4 final. Seminole scored on a penalty kick one minute into the match, but Lakeland Christian scored three times to lead 3-1 at the half.

After two more Viking goals in the second half, Seminole’s Brian Samilian closed out thes coring at the 75th minute with his 32nd goal of the year. The Vikes pretty much dominated play, but Seminole never quit.

Coach Johnson went up to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to see LCS alumni Jose Gomez, Jason Streets and Ben Strawbridge play for Liberty University versus Coastal Carolina (in Conway S.C.)

Liberty won 3-1 and all three of the LCS grads started and played the whole match. Jose is second on the team in scoring and Jason is fourth. Ben plays defense and did a solid job as well.
