FREE! Clearwater Chargers to host collegiate showcase

CLEARWATER -- On Saturday, March 4, the Clearwater Chargers Soccer Club will be hosting its annual College Showcase at Eddie C. Moore Complex. There will be eight boys teams and four girls teams playing a round robin format starting at 9 a.m. and running through 5 p.m. The following teams will be participating:

1. Three boys teams from the Clearwater Chargers: U-17 Boys Gold, U-17 Boys Red, U-18 boys
2. FC Omni boys from Orlando
3. Team Boca boys from Boca Raton
4. Boys All-Star team from North Florida from the Tallahasse area
5. Boys All-Star team form Southern Georgia from the Columbus area
6. The US U-17 Boys National Team
7. U-17 Girls from Clearwater Chargers
8. U-18 Girls from Manatee Magic
9. U-18 Girls from Cape Coral
10. U-17 Girls from Black Watch in Tampa

All these teams play on Saturday. The night before, Friday night, March 3 at Eddie C. Moore Complex, there will be two college exhibition games:

1. University of South Florida vs. University of Central Florida men's teams, and
2. Eckerd College versus the Tampa Bay Extreme women's teams

Both these games will be played at 7 p.m. on Friday night.

Notes: No other soccer club in Florida puts on a College Showcase except the Clearwater Chargers and we look forward to having around 30 college coaches to visit with us (most of these also plan to see the Senior Soccer Challenge on Friday night at Clearwater Central Catholic).
