Sun Bowl 1999

Tampa Bay teams in the quarterfinals of their respective age groups in Sun Bowl 1999:

U-14 Brandon Flames
U-15 Temple Terrace Spirit
U-15 Tampa Bay Kickers
U-16 Blackwatch Royals
U-16 Pasco Thunder
*U-17 Clearwater Chargers
U-19 Clearwater Chargers

*The Blackwatch Lightning U-17 team went 2-0-2, but failed to make the playoffs on goal differential.

**The Lakeland Lazers U-18 also went 2-0-2 at the SunBowl tournament and did not make the quarterfinals. They only allowed one goal the entire tournament and that was on a penalty kick in their first game. Since the SunBowl scoring system gives more points for a 3-2 win vs. a 1-0 shutout, they lost the group by one point. The Lazers team is comprised of players from George Jenkins, Jesuit, Santa Fe Catholic, Plant, Bloomingdale,and Melbourne Central Catholic. ~~Thanks to J. Dutt
