Tennian gets 200th win the hard way
Sorry, this didn't show up in the on-line edition of the St. Petersburg Times, so here is my paraphrased edition:
Dave Tennian and assistant Rob Woodward, who have coached at Bloomingdale for 10 years, got their 200th win together on Tuesday with a 2-1 victory over Sickles.
The Bulls (12-3-2, ranked No. 7 in latest state poll), bounced back from a horrible showing in a 4-1 loss to Gaither last week. Bloomingdale also had to forfeit its first game back after Christmas break, a 2-0 win over Durant, because it used an ineligible player.
The Bulls took an early 2-0 lead in the match, then withstood a late charge by the Gryphons (7-4-1) who got a goal from Carlos Pinnace.
Sickles was without the services of Brandon Streicher, who was red-carded in last Friday's game against Gaither. Some Sickles players and fans have alledged that Gaither set-up the play to take Streicher out of the game.
The Class 4A, District 7 playoffs should be interesting!
