Our home is a 45-year-old bungalow, 1300 square feet in total, located in a quiet neighborhood. It has a large living room, fully-equipped kitchen, and a total of five bedrooms. It currently sleeps six: one bedroom has been converted into a workshop, and another one into a family room.
We have done a lot of work on landscaping in the last three years. The backyard is very private, with a new patio right off the kitchen, a garden shed, and gravel paths. The backyard is great for long, warm summer evenings with a propane barbecue, and a chimeneia.
The house is in a nice neighbourhood, with lots of old trees and great character. Neighbourhood store, a pub, video store, and a movie theatre are just a short walk, while the City Centre is about 30-minute downhill walk, or a couple of minutes by car.
The
town can also be easily explored on one of the four bicycles,
which are available for your use. For more details on Kitimat
itself or the recreational activities available, check out our Kitimat and
area web page.
For those rainy days when you want to take a break from outdoor activities, there is plenty to do in the house, with two TVs, cable (over 50 channels at present), VCR, DVD, a personal computer with Internet, and a great selection of books.
For those eager to make their own entertainment, we have a full drum set, keyboard, guitar, bass guitar, 5-string banjo, mandolin, and two fiddles.
Along with the house, you will have full use of two vehicles: a 1991 Escort (great on gas, 5 seats) and 1989 Ford F-150 pickup truck (6 seats, great for off-road use when going hiking or fishing). Also, for those with previous boating experience, our 27-foot Catalina sailboat (sleeps 4, propane stove, VHF radio, depth sounder, 7.5 HP 4-stroke Honda OB) would be available.
