LYMPH NODES: Rounded or oval lumps of lymph tissue. The lymph flows through them. They play a part in the body's defences. When enlarged they can be felt in the neck, groin or armpit. There are also many in the mediastinum and in the abdomen. They are often affected by tuberculosis. Some people still

call them 'lymph glands'.
