The Standard Range Standard range instruments are constructed from best quality materials that can be obtained at a reasonable price. Timber can vary on the standard range depending on availability. These can include Mahogany, Maple, Sycamore, Sissoo, Walnut, Baubenga and Afromosia ( call or e-mail to find out what is available at the moment ). Necks are of Brazilian mahogany and fingerboards and bridges are from North Indian Rosewood ( Dalbergia sissoo ). Mother of pearl is inlayed into the fingerboard and bridge and the instrument is bound in hardwood with a line purfling. A decorative herringbone is inlayed around the soundhole. Soundboards are selected from spruce or cedar and nuts and bridge saddles are bone. After finishing with a high gloss lacquer they are then fitted with die cast tuners on the larger instruments and open strips on the mandolins. We use Newtone strings custom made in the UK |
