Stage 2
 
Stage two is the largest areas in the base's main interior, and for good reason. A large number of crystal warriors are battle ready, what with this being where they are manufactured to begin with. Also, some of the machinery may be somewhat dangerous to approach.
In several areas of this stage are security chambers that use combination locks like this one. The correct sequence of buttons on the floor must be pressed to open the door; or else the gun mounted on the ceiling will fire in a nearly inescapable array of shots for a wrong button sequence. After three incorrect sequences in a row, the chambers electrify.
The boss of stage 2 is a defense system, similar to a force field wall. The three low cannons on the machine itself and the three homing beam turrets on the ceiling of the room make for a difficult obstacle to overcome. Any disruptions to the energy beam is the defense system's only weakness.
