I had a chance to go to the Dir'iyah ruins while i was in Saudi. I took some pictures, there are about 22 pictures. Enjoy

The name Dir'iyah or Dir'aiyah or Deriya is derived form the Arabic word for shield and was named for the town form which its founder came.

In 1744 Muhammmad b. Saud al Muqrin, the ruler of Dir'iyah invited the religious reformer, Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhaab to move to Dir'iyah. they made a pact to work together and establish the "true version of Islam throughout the Arab lands by promoting morality and pious government."
