New Breed Press release
![]()
I'm not sure the exact date on this or who even wrote it, but here's a press release about the New Breed: Do you remember the record "Green Eyed Woman" which was released last fall? If so, you will remember the group which wrote and recorded it, the New Breed. Their new release, "Want Ad Reader" is even more promising than their first. If you think it reminds you of something, don't feel like you're the only person. One fan says "It's like the Beatles, I mean it's got the same flavor, but it's not a copy, that's obvious."
"Want Ad Reader", which was originally scheduled to be released as "Strange Things Happen", was changed due to a discontentment with it among the group. Actually, it was just the words that were changed, the music is the same.
For instance:
Ron - He is rather on the serious side, quite friendly, but somehow just a little bit apart from the others. he is studying to be a doctor.
Tom - Tom is more the quiet, very shy sort. He is a bit harder to get to know then the others, and somehow, you always find yourself a little less at ease with him, when you first meet him.
George - Well, if you want information on the group or such, he's the person to talk to. He wears sunglasses--all the time and if you should ask why, someone will jokingly tell you that he has a glass eye, but if you look shocked enough, he'll tell you tits just a joke, which it is.
Tim - With him, the best thing to do , is just to quote his own statement concerning himself, "I know I'm not too helpful, it's not that I don't try to be, it's just the way I am." How is he, well, he is very lively, and extremely fun-loving. All that can be said for Tim Schmit is, hold on, you never know what is coming next!
Record wise, they had another record last April, "I've Been Wrong Before", which was quite a contrast with "Green Eyed Woman". It didn't do anything to speak of on the charts though.
Of the record, Tim, who is the spokesman for the group says, "We think it's a good record, but we didn't actually expect it to do too well, because it is a ballad, and ballads don't sell too well."
If you get a chance to hear their record, "I've Been Wrong Before", then do. Believe me, you'll find it worth the few moments of your time. If you don't, then remember the name The New Breed, and their new record, "Want Ad Reader", because chances are, you'll be hearing a lot about both in the near future.
