Post leaving Sunnydale after some major trauma, Buffy ends up in a city working as a waitress. There she comes across a girl she saved back in Sunnydale, who is calling herself Lily now. Lily has this boyfriend, he disappears & Lily, knowing that Buffy has special powers, desperately asks Buffy to help find him, forcing Buffy to acknowledge what’s she’s been running from, her slayerhood. The search leads Buffy to discover that someone is making people age faster. Meanwhile, Xander, Cordelia, Willow, & Oz are starting school. No one knows where Buffy is. Giles still has hope & is continuing to search for her. Buffy’s mom is still pretty miffed about the whole discovering that Buffy-is-a-vampire-slayer thing & doesn’t know where to put the blame for anything that has happened. In the city, Buffy begins to figure out who is doing the evil & goes to stop it. The big bad guy, who appears to be a nice mild mannered man, is actually a demon who glues on a human face to lure healthy distraught kids into his demon-made hell. We learn that in hell a hundred years passes in a day & that’s why the kids were aging faster. Buffy reclaims her identity as Buffy: the Vampire Slayer. & saves the day. At the end, she returns home to Sunnydale.
Dead Man's Party
Buffy is trying to adjust to being back home, & everyone else is as well. Buffy’s mom is just dealing with the slayer issue & starts asking will you be slaying? instead of will there be boys there?. Buffy finds the Scooby gang as they are attempting to slay in Buffy’s place. The group goes to see Giles. Things aren’t the same between anyone & Buffy. Everyone seems to be avoiding her. There starts to be some confronting. Willow is the first who gives Buffy a speech on how she should have called. Later, Buffy’s mom & Xander get into it & they aren’t so nice. The big bad evil this week is this mask that contains the power of a zombie demon. During a ‘Welcome home, Buffy’ party & the big confronting fight, the zombies attack. Everyone has to ban together to stop the evil. Buffy stabs Joyce’s dead friend Pat, who has been possessed by the zombie-demon, in the eyes with a shovel & this week’s slaying is done. Buffy comes back into the house & everything is just all fine & dandy with the gang again. This convinces Giles that Buffy should be at Sunnydale High, so he goes into Principal Snyder’s office & threatens him into letting Buffy back into school.
Faith, Hope, & Trick
Buffy is finally allowed back into school. Things are just getting back to normal, settled. At a normal outing at the Bronze enters Faith, a new slayer. Faith is zesty & likable. She’s the bad girl, but just wild, not the evil kind of bad. Buffy starts to feel that Faith’s getting too into her social circle, family, love life, etc. & there is more badness to Faith arrival, a cloven vampire named Kikistos has followed her, traveling with a vampire named Mr. Trick who is very modern & believes in ‘the big picture’. Kikistos has a grudge against Faith for slashing his face in an attempted slaying. He killed her Watcher right in front of her & came to Sunnydale solely to make her his next victim. Buffy takes him out. Mr. Trick lives to fight another day & Faith becomes a member of the Scooby Gang. Inspired by Faith’s ability to deal with a horrible past, Buffy reveals to Willow & Giles that Angel did in fact have a soul when she sent him to hell, that Willow’s curse worked. Buffy feels so into the moving-on spirit that she decides to give Scott Hope, a guy who’s been pretty desperate for her, a chance. & to put it all officially behind her, she goes to Angel's mansion, & puts the ring Angel gave to her on the floor, saying Good-bye. Fade to black, the end. Nope, you’ve been tricked. Suddenly out of the sky- it’s a bird, it’s a plane, no! It’s naked Angel steaming out of Hell.
Beauty and the Beasts
It’s that time of the month again & Oz is going through some hairy phases as the full moon is out. A student is found mauled &, since Xander was on Oz-watch the night before, they figure that Oz might be the one that did the crime. Out hunting Buffy comes across Angel. She is shocked, & even more so when he starts attacking the hell out of her. He’s in a violent animal state & Buffy is forced to chain him up in the mansion. It’s a mystery how he came back, or more importantly why. Scott Hope, Buffy’s new beau, has these two friends, Debbie & Pete. Pete turns out to be the mauler, he created a potion that I assume is just some highly concentrated testosterone (that’s a joke) & it turns him into a beasty. Buffy is fighting this beast as another beast comes in, Angel. We still don’t know what to expect here, but Angel comes through. He goes after Pete, perhaps memories came back to Angel after seeing Buffy in danger, & kills Pete. Then his face contorts to human & he seemed to really see Buffy for the first time. All he says is her name as he begins to cry & falls to his knees holding on to her. She has no clue what to do & just stands still as tears roll down her face. The episode ends with Buffy watching Angel sleep, trembling with nightmares, on the cold floor of the mansion.
Homecoming
Angel is more coherent now. He’s starting to remember more, which I’m sure can’t be fun for him. Buffy has decided that she isn’t going to have a romantic relationship with Angel, she wants something normal & dependable. Then, Scott breaks it off, leaving Buffy feeling more & more not in control. Homecoming is soon & Cordelia is campaigning for the title of Queen. Buffy’s already a little moody & her & Cordelia, Cordy being representative of all Buffy doesn’t have, get into it & Buffy decides to show Cordy what campaigning is all about. The competition between the two girls leave the gang out of balance. Willow & Xander see each other in gorgeous attire & are both taken aback by it. Willow mentions that she doesn’t know how to dance so Xander shows her. They kiss, enjoy it for a second, & then push each other away. Later, they realize there are feelings there, but they don’t want to break it off with Cordelia & Oz. Meanwhile, Mr. Trick plots against Buffy & Faith. He organizes ‘Slayer Fest ‘98’ which consists of getting a bunch of baddies together to put money up for whoever kills the slayers. The whole episode parallels competition in general & more specifically, voting (which was going on in the US the day the episode premiered). The Scooby Gang tries to get Buffy & Cordelia to work things out & sets them up in a limo, but, some of the Slayer Fest participates thought Faith would be there with Buffy, so Cordy ends up getting dragged into the ring in Faith’s place. However, the girls manage. Buffy ultimately saves the day & neither of them win Homecoming Queen. In this episode, we first see The Mayor (the season's big bad guy), Richard Wilkins III, as he recruits Mr. Trick to be on his team. It is revealed that The Mayor is cleanly, straightforward, & non-emotional.
Band Candy
The Mayor must pay tribute to a sewer demon. So he gets Trick to hire Ethan Rayne, you’ll remember him as an old friend of Giles’, to make sure that chocolate bars containing something that makes adults act like children get to the Sunnydale populous. Meanwhile, Buffy is taking SATs, she is still sneaking around to make sure Angel is OK, & Willow & Xander are struggling with their mutual attraction. When the adults become teenagers, Snyder becomes a hanger-on in the Scooby Gang, Giles becomes a misfit, & Joyce & he become intimate. Through all that, Buffy gets Giles to act like a grown up long enough to get him to do his job- which is helping Buffy save the day.
Revelations
Faith & Buffy, while training with Giles, are introduced to Mrs. Gwendolyn Post, Faith’s new Watcher. She is even more meticulous than Giles. Giles starts to get a little overly self-attentive & starts being even more of a book worm. Meanwhile, Buffy is still going to see Angel. They are getting a little too close. Xander & Willow are still having the affair & although Xander is doing worse things in the love department, he feels that he needs to be the voice of morals when he encounters upon Angel, & witnesses Buffy & Angel’s first kiss in a hell of a while. Giles, Willow, Xander, Cordelia, & Oz have an intervention for Buffy to address the Angel’s-returning issue. Later, Giles reveals his anger that Buffy didn’t tell him that Angel had come back. Otherwhere, Mrs. Post is working on Faith’s psyche. Making her feel that she isn’t a member of the gang & that she, Mrs. Post, is the only one Faith can trust. Faith learns Angel is back & jumps to the conclusion that he’s evil & goes off to kill him. Angel has gotten hold of this evil glove & is trying to mystically destroy it. It turns out Mrs. Post was a power-greedy excommunicated Watcher who was after that glove all along. Everyone bans together to fight her & no one dies, well, except the evil girl. Buffy forgives Xander, Giles puts aside his anger at Buffy, Angel is out in the open, & Faith is messed up forever. She’s never the same, she never feels that she is one of them ever again.
Lover's Walk
Spike returns looking for revenge after Drusilla has left him. Buffy has gotten her SATs back & is starting to realize she could go to college elsewhere. Willow feels it’s time to take drastic measures concerning her affair with Xander & goes off to do a de-lusting spell. While off getting supplies, Spike sees Willow & gets the idea that Willow put a love spell on Drusilla. Buffy finds Spike & is ready to kill him for breaking their no-returning deal when Spike reveals that he’s the one that has Willow & Xander. Angel, Buffy, & Spike go off to get spell supplies & encounter a group of vamps sent by the Mayor. Meanwhile, Cordelia & Oz, using Oz’s werewolf charms, find Willow & Xander, kissing. Cordelia turns to run away & falls on a mental-something & is impaled. The two vampires & the slayer take care of themselves. The fight revives Spike who says simply, "you’re friends are at the factory" & leaves happily to go tie Dru up until she likes him again. Cordelia lives, but, later, tells Xander to stay away from her. Oz won’t talk to Willow. Prompted by Spike’s incites into Angel & Buffy’s relationship, Buffy realizes that what she wants from Angel she can never have & tells him she can never see him again.
The Wish
Cordelia returns to school after recovering from her injury to find that she is the latest scourge. She’s rebounding from the Xander thing & finds no confort from anyone except one girl named Anya. Cordelia has decided that all her problems are because of Buffy & wishes that Buffy had never come to Sunnydale. As it so happens, Anya can do that. Cordelia finds herself in a strange dimension where Sunnydale is ruled by vampires, the Master in particular; where Willow & Xander are the Masters cronies; where Giles, Oz, Larry, & others fight off the daily killing in vain. Before Cordelia has a chance to try to explain to Giles the predicament she’s gotten the world into, Xander & Willow do her in at the Master’s bidding because she mentioned the word "Buffy", who is only known to them as the slayer. Although never used, Giles’ Watcher skills come in handy as he snatches the mysterious necklace around the dead girl’s neck & figures out what might be going on. He is prompted to call the slayer’s watcher, Buffy makes her first trip to Sunnydale. She is a different girl. Cold & hard to the world, she is a step up from the killer that Faith would later become. Giles tries to explain about the demon Anyunka, but Buffy insists that she only kills vampires & upon learning that The Master is within town limits goes off to simply kill him. Buffy finds Angel, locked in chains, he knows her ("Becoming" reference) & directs her to the Master’s location. Buffy & the vamps have a big fight out. Xander kills Angel, Buffy doesn’t care. Xander dies at Buffy’s stake. Willow is done in by Oz. & the Master, once he gets in range of Buffy, kills Buffy by quickly snapping her neck. However, Giles saves the day by summoning Anyunka & smashing her necklace, leaving Anya human & powerless, & the world back to normal.

‘Tis the Season as Christmas time descends upon Sunnydale. Angel is haunted by dreams of his past. Angel’s dreams start to become a reality as his former victims appear to him & try to convince him that his purpose in life is to be evil, & in particular to lose his soul in Buffy. Giles & Xander put aside their anger issues toward Angel to figure out what’s been torturing him. The gang discover that the thing is ‘The First Evil’, which is exactly what it’s name indicates. Meanwhile, Oz forgives Willow, & Willow decides it’s time to show Oz that he’s the one she wants to be with, to sleep with him. Oz tells Willow that she doesn’t need to prove anything to him. Angel has figured that the visions are not the spirits of his actual victims, but he still thinks that the thing is making sense. However, Angel’s reaction to what The First told him about himself isn’t that Angel should give in & be bad, but that Angel should end his pathetic life. Angel awaits the rise of sun on Christmas morning, Buffy rushes to convince Angel that he needs to get inside. Angel states that all he is is evil, Buffy poses that she is fully aware of all Angel has done because he did it to her, but she can’t stop loving him, & that if he dies now then all he ever was is a monster. & then, snow begins to fall, during a California heat wave. Which says to me that even though the evilest of forces is out there against Angel, that some higher power of Good wants him to be in this world.
Gingerbread
The town goes into hysteria when two kids are found dead with a witch symbol marked on their hands. It turns into a full-fledged witch-hunt, lead by Joyce Summers herself, where anything occult is taken as a danger & a Joyce-started group called M.O.O. sets their eyes on the goal of taking back the night in Sunnydale. Joyce’s tactics of ridding the world of evil make Buffy feel that her fight is fruitless. Angel convinces Buffy that there are things worth fighting for. Meanwhile, The Scooby Gang figure that the big evil is a demon otherwise known as Hansel & Gredal. A demon that, every 50 years, takes the form of two dead kids to start a witch hunt of the innocent. Willow’s mother & Buffy’s mother turn against their kids & Amy, & decide to ‘kill the bad girls’ by burning them at the stake. Amy shows the mob what a witch can do & transforms herself into a rat. Giles & Cordelia rush to save the day & reveal the demon’s true form, they succeed & make the demon slayable. &, of course, Buffy does the slaying. Later, Buffy & Willow try to turn Amy back into a human, &, well, they can’t.
Helpless
As Buffy’s 18th Birthday comes closer, Buffy gets weaker. She can no longer do all the things she, as the slayer, is naturally able to do. As she has mixed feelings about being helpless like any person & realizes that her friends & Angel would still be apart of her life- slayer or not, she is confronted with the knowledge of why she has become incapable of performing normal slaying tasks. Giles is responsible. The Watcher’s Council has a rite of passage for the slayer if she reaches her 18th birthday, to weaken the girl and then send her in a bordered-up house with a vampire. This vampire is a singular thing, with a need for pills & a grudge against mothers. He breaks free & goes after Buffy. When he doesn’t at first get her, he goes after her mother, so Buffy is forced to enter into the Watcher's Council's test. Using only her cunning, instead of her brawn, Buffy proves she truly is the slayer & tricks the vamp into taking his pills with holy water. Later, the Watchers Council head reveals that Buffy passed the test, but Giles didn’t. Giles is fired on the grounds that he loved Buffy like a father, on that that kind of concern for her well being interferes with his ability to watch over her.
The Zeppo
Some of Cordelia’s vile insults start to get to Xander, leaving him with a quest to find ‘his thing’, the thing that makes him cool. He finally decides that getting a car could be his thing. Cordelia sees his attempt for what it is & calls him on it, leaving him feeling more useless. He gets involved in some badness. A bully, Jack O’Toole, takes Xander along as his wheelman for a night of raising the dead. Xander finally detaches from Jack & friends & saves Faith from a demon. Faith is restless after a fight & no kill, & decides to take out some frustration, in a body sense, with Xander. After she shoves him out of her apartment, he realizes that Jack & buds were getting supplies to make a bomb & he has to stop their plans all by himself. Meanwhile, a demon sect known as the Sisterhood of Jhe has come to Sunnydale to raise the Hellmouth. Although not the main focus of the episode, the Hellmouth rises, & Buffy & friends enact a spell to bind it, all while Xander stops O’Toole from blowing up the school. Xander proves to himself alone that he is a capable person, & that he doesn't need 'a thing'.
Bad Girls
Buffy’s new watcher, Wesley, arrives. Faith immediately disapproves, & Buffy follows her lead. Faith convinces Buffy that as slayers they are entitled to do whatever they want. The two go out, slay, & party, Buffy starts ‘living large’ like Faith. Meanwhile, the big bad guy is a vampire named Balthazar that seems to be an old enemy of the Mayor (remember Buffy & friends don’t know that the Mayor is a threat yet). Buffy & Faith obtain the amulet that Balthazar is after, so he retaliates by kidnapping the Watchers. Faith & Buffy are heading to do Balthazar in as his vamps come after the girls one at a time. Then, Alan, the Mayor’s human deputy Mayor, comes out of the shadows & Faith stakes him, thinking he’s a vamp. Both Buffy & Faith are shocked. Faith urges Buffy to get out of there. Buffy runs into Angel, who sees the blood on Buffy’s hand, but doesn’t press her on it because he knows that Giles is in trouble. Meanwhile, Faith goes back to the killing scene & touches her victim’s wound with an odd look on her face. Buffy goes into the current perilous scene, in which Wesley first proves to be a big sell-out ninny, & saves the day. As Balthazar dies he gives the chilling words: "when he rises, you’ll wish I’d killed you all". Elsewhere, the Mayor performs a ritual to make himself invincible for a hundred days until something he calls ‘the Ascension’. The next day, Buffy goes to talk to Faith. Buffy wants to go to the authorities, Faith says no. Buffy says that Faith can’t just make this go away, & Faith simply explains: You don’t get it, I don’t care.
Consequences
Alan’s body is found. The Mayor discovers that he had wooden splinters in his heart-struck wound. Trick & the Mayor plot to take the slayers down for the crime. Buffy & Faith are ordered by Wesley to find out what this death was about. They go to the Mayor’s office & see Trick with the Mayor. Faith decides that Buffy’s unstable about secrecy & gets one up on her. She tells Giles about the killing but that Buffy did it. Giles doesn’t buy it. The gang discuss Faith & it’s revealed that Xander & Faith slept together. Willow goes & cries in the bathroom. Xander tries to get through to Faith, she reacts by strangling him. He is saved by Angel. Angel chains her up in the mansion & tries his own form of an intervention. Angel tells Faith that she has a choice, to trust, to turn around. At the second that Angel might have gotten to her, enters the Council. They have come to arrest Faith on behalf of the Watcher’s Council. She breaks out & flees to the docks. Buffy catches up with her. Faith claims that Buffy’s problem is that she can’t stand to see Faith living her own way, & that underneath that is who Buffy is. They argue, Trick attacks, & as Trick is about to take Buffy out, Faith stakes him. Buffy takes this as that Faith still has hope, but the episode ends chillingly with Faith showing up at the Mayor’s door: "So I guess you have a job opening".
Doppelgangland
Willow begins to feel like a pincushion as this episode starts & wants to get into some danger. She finds Anya, the former demon Anyunka, who is looking to cast a spell that will retrieve her amulet. The spell gets messed & Evil Willow is brought through instead of the amulet. Evil Willow shows at the Bronze where Xander & Buffy see her. They go to the library to tell Giles that Willow is dead, then Willow shows. Giles deduces that something very strange is happening. Meanwhile, at the Bronze, Evil Willow is preparing to make our world just like hers. Anya is there & fills Evil Willow in on what is going on. Evil Willow decides to pay our Willow a visit. Alive Willow tricks her & locks her up. Cordelia comes in & thinks that Willow has just locked herself in. Eventually she lets her out, Cordelia runs, & gets saved by Wesley. The Scooby gang have enacted a plan to take out the vamps in the Bronze using Evil Willow’s outfit on Alive Willow. They take out a few, then, it becomes a heavy party situation. But, Buffy can’t kill Evil Willow, no one can. They decide to send her back to her world, that way she’s got a chance. They send her back, & of course, Oz gets her dusted.
Enemies
A demon contacts the slayers about obtaining the Books of Ascension. Faith finds him & kills him, Buffy later shows up & begins to wonder about some things. Meanwhile, the Mayor has a plan to take Buffy down, to make Angel lose his soul. He sends Faith to seduce him, but it doesn’t work. So, he contacts a shaymen that nods that he will do the job. Faith, using magic, steals Angel’s soul. Faith & Angel retrieve Buffy & take her to the mansion where they immediately reveal that Angelus is back. Otherwhere, the gang is researching. They discover that the Mayor is over a hundred. At The Mansion, Faith is preparing to torture Buffy. Faith is ranting at Buffy. Buffy tells Faith that she is better than her. Buffy leads her into revealing more about The Mayor & the Ascension. Once they get what they want, Angel & Buffy reveal that Angel is not soulless. They played her. Buffy & Faith face off, knifes to throats. Faith says that Buffy won’t kill her because then she’ll become her, & Buffy’s not ready for that yet. The next day, the Scooby Gang rehash. They’ve learned that the Ascension, whatever it is, happens on Graduation Day. As for the curse being lifted, the shaymen was someone who owned a favor to Giles. In Faith’s new apartment, the girl is consoled by the Mayor. At The Mansion, Buffy tells Angel she needs a break because seeing him bad again was too much for her.
Earshot
Buffy experiences a side effect of slaying, she gets an ‘aspect of the demon’ which turns out to be the ability to hear other's thoughts. At first it’s neat. Buffy can get all the answers in class, Buffy knows exactly what people are thinking: she’s knowledge girl. But, soon the thoughts start to become overwhelming & then comes the threat: "I’ll kill you all". The gang must question everyone in school to see if they have homicidal tendencies as Buffy grows more & more insane. Angel gets the cure for Buffy’s condition & she finally is alone with her thoughts. They go to save the students at Sunnydale High. Cordelia finds a note that leads them to believe the conspirator is Jonathan. Buffy goes up to the bell tower to stop him. She tells Jonathan that everyone is ignoring his pain because they’re busy with their own. Jonathan changes his mind about killing himself- yes, he’s not the one they’re after. Meanwhile, Xander goes to the cafeteria & is paused by the prospect of food. He finds the lunch lady pouring rat poison in a pot. Buffy enters & saves the day. The episode ends with Buffy taunting Giles with the knowledge that she learned from hearing her mother's thoughts- that Giles & her mom had sex.
Choices
Cordelia & Willow have the option on colleges, Xander states his post-graduation plans involve the open road, & Buffy decides she wants out of Sunnydale. Buffy & Angel start to realize the drawbacks, besides the no-true-happiness thing, to them being romantically involved. Buffy also decides it’s time to strike with the Mayor. Buffy learns of the box of Gavrock, something crucial to the Ascension, & hashes a plan to steal it. Angel, Buffy, & Willow, because of her witch craft abilities, succeed in getting the box. But, Faith grabs Willow before she leaves. To everyone but Wesley, there is only one option: trade the box for Willow. Meanwhile, over at the Mayor’s office, Willow finds the Books of Ascension & explores them instead of taking a chance at escaping. Faith comes in & Willow gives her a speech about how Will feels no sympathy for her. The trade takes place at the school. The Mayor takes it as an opportunity to give Angel a speech on how he & Buffy would never work out, & that he is selfishly wasting her life. Snyder comes in looking for drugs & sees first hand that the Mayor isn’t human. Some badness happens, but everyone comes out alive, or at least everyone we'd know by name. During the badness, Faith leaves behind a knife that the Mayor gave to her. In the library, Willow reveals that she tore out pages from the Books of Ascension, so they are closer to knowing what’s going to happen. The next day, Buffy comes to terms with the knowledge that she’s never getting out of Sunnydale, OK for Willow who tells Buffy that she’s staying in Sunnydale to be apart of the fight. That night, Buffy & Angel try to tell each other that they are not still thinking about the Mayor’s words.
The Prom
Buffy & Angel are closer than ever, & Angel is still very much thinking about the Mayor’s words during the box exchange. Enters Joyce who tells Angel that there are some hard choices ahead that he has to make about his future with Buffy. Meanwhile, Anya, now a human girl, asks Xander to the Prom, & since he doesn’t have any better, or any other, options he says yes. One night patrolling Angel tells Buffy that they need to talk. He tells Buffy that their relationship is unfair to her & that she deserves something outside of darkness, & that she should get all she can get of a normal life. Buffy is heart-broken, but, along with the rest of the gang, she knows it’s all true & it’s what is right. Xander runs across Cordelia at a dress store & discovers she’s working there, her dad has lost all his money & she’s broke, she won’t even get to go to college because of it. The bad guy this week is a student who is training these vicious beasts called hell hounds to attack people in formal wear. Buffy decides that no matter what she is going to give those at Sunnydale High the one perfect happy High School moment that she’s never gotten to have & to foil the Carrie-inspired kid’s plans. Otherwhere, Cordelia hasn’t gotten enough money to pay for her Prom dress & Xander has paid it off for her. The Prom starts, Buffy kills the hell hounds, Anya keeps talking to Xander about her former occupation, Wesley & Cordelia dance, & Willow & Oz do the same. The awards are being given out & Jonathan comes up to give a special award out, the first of it’s kind. Jonathan gives a speech about how Buffy & the people of the school aren’t good friends, but they appreciate all that she has done to help them. They give Buffy the Class Protector Award. At the end, Angel shows up in a tux to give Buffy a happy High School moment, even though it doesn’t mean he’ll be there tomorrow.
Graduation Day pt.1
The Mayor pays the gang a chilling visit at the library as Anya is expressing to Giles & everyone that she once witnessed an Ascension. Anya also states she won’t be staying for Graduation because she thinks that everyone will die. She asks Xander to come with her, but he declines with that he’s needed here. Willow feels insecure about the future as well. As she expresses her concern to Oz, the two decide it’s time to do a thing they may never get to do if they die tomorrow. Meanwhile, Faith has killed a Professor & Buffy goes to find out why. While at the crime scene Angel shows, they have a tisk, then Faith shoots Angel with an arrow. They soon discover that Faith has poisoned him. The Watcher’s Council refuses to help with the research on the poison & it’s the last straw for Buffy, she claims her independence of them. When Wes says that her actions are mutiny, Buffy says: "I like to think of it as graduation". The poison is a mystical one & the only cure is a slayer’s blood. Buffy says that’s good because it’s time to end things with Faith for good. Buffy goes to kill Faith, they have a big fight & then Buffy stabs Faith with the knife that the Mayor had given to her. Faith is exceptant of her defeat, but refuses to let Buffy fully win as she plummets off her apartment balcony unto a moving truck. Her last words: "You shoulda’ been there, B. Quit a ride".
