That's My Take | |||||||||
My thoughts on the subject of Buffy & Angel |
Buffy 12-17-02 "Bring on the Night" Hum. I didn't like it so much. It had a strong end scene, other than that it was just off. Part of the problem is the infeasibility of half the things that happen. All the surviving potential slayers being British. None of the watchers surviving. One of the slayers leaving the house & getting killed by the vamp thing right off. Buffy finding the body right off. It's all just not too thought out as far as giving the audience any credit for mental capacity. I'm sort of offended by the whole offering. Sorry, that was the Source's bitchfest probably brought on by my name being used as the source of all evil AGAIN ("Charmed"). But, seriously, it's like they're trying too hard & not hard enough - & it's all coming out crappy. 12-15-02 Mini-Marathon Thoughts Avoiding studying I had a mini-marathon consisting of a few episodes. In "Restless" the end scene with Buffy in the desert -- Tara (speaking for the First Slayer) describes the thing chasing Buffy & everyone & Buffy concludes that it's "the slayer" but Tara, the thing it is, says "the First." What if that was meant as just that, just The First instead of what we've always said "The First Slayer". Question - why rid the world of the slayers if they root from evil. Why not just help them get in touch with the evil source? Maybe the slayer was the first thing that turned from evil. Maybe the slayer becoming good created good. Wouldn't that be wild? What if the spot in the desert in "Restless" is the spot - like in my fanfic - where everything began (all of everything) & where everything now will go down (assuming it'll go down in the place it began like in my fanfic). Last "Restless" related thought - I still think Joss meant that "you're not the source of me" thing for me. My name is "an affront to the source of that power", meaning me saying I'm the Buffy Source is an affront to Joss, the real source of Buffy. Lastly, a thought I just connected - it's potential slayers that are being killed having something to do with what the First is planning - well, Dawn is a potential slayer. She's made of Buffy just not yet called. It means, eventually, they'll be coming for Dawn as well as, the more obvious, Buffy. 11-26-02 "Never Leave Me" Okay. Well, first off. Buffy, it took you long enough to realize what's going on. Yes, it's the First, I think the rest of us got that after the first episode. It still hasn't been said what those girls were that have been killed (in the beginning of the season, folks) but it's clear from what was said by the Council - that they're operatives have been taken out - that they are, what I've said, potential slayers, girls who've been trained & everything. That's what's been going on, the First is trying to rid the world of slayers. Now, finally, I address why. Well, it probably isn't like my fanfic, but maybe it is. Maybe, however, it simply is that the First wants to take out people that can fight it. The bringing in of a vampire - like a true vampire - says something else that goes along with my fanfic, I think. You bring back the oldest things, it goes along with wanting to take out the ancient vampire killers - thus I'm holding true to my fanfic & saying that I was right on target, taking out slayers dis-balances the scales & darkness triumphs - that's my take & I'm sticking to it. The bomb thing with the Council- that was so random, it was funny. But okay. Whatever. All I have to say about the Council is- what a$$holes. They had in their power to tell Buffy what was going on & they didn't, basically because they wanted the glory of taking it on themselves. Now they're dead & Buffy doesn't know anything. & the whole world could be lost because of the Council's selfishness. Nice. Giles could be dead, ya know. Where is he? He's probably alive though. He probably realizes he's safer on his own. The principle burying Jonathan - it could be just that he has been at the school so much, exposed to the hellmouth, that he's under the influence now. Or it could be creepier & be that he was trying to protect the school. Probably the first, no pun intended. Man, that really was an unoriginal name, Joss (The First - follow along, people!). The First being able to take Jonathan's form goes along with my theory - Jonathan being killed by evil allows the First to be able to take his form. Final thoughts, I just think they could be doing great things with this storyline & it's just dullsome. There's too much damn talk, there are too many things said, the things that are executed are not done so efficiently, they do not maximize anything. Even though the juices are flowing & the storyline is interesting, it's not being done well. & it's kinda causing me to sorta, & it's sad to admit, but really, say Buffy sucks. & I lost faith in SMG's acting long ago, I just wanted to say it. She stopped trying after 5th season. Maybe there's a reason for that. Afterall, that's when the writing started going downhill.
Angel I've actually enjoyed Angel lately more than Buffy, which is rare so I'm savoring the moment. I'm genuinely excited to see what happens next, albeit, a tad confused. Conner sleeps with Cordy (commiting a felany). Sidenote: they suddenly said this season that the boy is 18 but in the previous season he was 16. So, he's jailbait! Cordy's my age (21-22). So, the age difference may not be THAT off but considering that actor that plays Conner has got to be 18 or less & Charisma is now 30 something, the age difference there is pretty steep. That has nothing to do with anything, I just felt like noting it. Now, this is a personal belief of mine - but if you're in love with someone, you don't go & sleep with someone else - let alone their son. Sorry but that's just the kind of person I am. I wonder if this will turn Angel dark again - AGAIN AGAIN! Man, Angel's gotta choose a team. If it's too hard to be good, why not try being bad for a while? That's my suggestion - don't hide your true nature, that's what I say. & don't sleep with the son of the guy you say you love, Cordy. Relationship thearipist Lark now helps TV couples as well -- I need a life. Night, folks.
