That's My Take | |||||||||
My thoughts on the subject of Buffy & Angel |
Buffy 2-5-03 "The Killer in Me" - Crazy theory alert. "Maybe it just wasn't supposed to last this long, eh pet? Another thing we have in common."- Spike to Buffy about the chip. "It was very clear about that - it's because she lives." - Giles about what that all-knowing eye said about what had happened in the slayer that was causing the First to attack the slayers. Anya was so willing to haul out guiltapolosa, no one stopped to simply think - hey, maybe it's just cause Buffy's lived longer than any other slayer. In "Doomed", I believe it was, Buffy said about slayerhood, downplaying it to Riley, that being a slayer means that you're not supposed to live past the age of 25. But on the official Buffy website during the summer after first season before the format of the site changed a lot, it said on there that a slayer doesn't live past the age of 21. What if that's the way it is. No slayer has even managed to live past the age of 21 - & ya know, Buffy just turned 22 (although they didn't have an episode for it her birthday is the end of January). "It's because she lives". It just struck me when Spike said to Buffy that she wasn't meant to last this long. I think that's it. & it all got me thinking about the slayer, about being called. What if the human form just can't take that energy for so long & it degrades, like the chip. & it's vulnerable. I know Buffy's only gotten stronger physically but what if internally her slayer-energy has become weakened. It's just something to think about. Maybe it's just time she passed the torch on. But, then, again, they said the line was in Faith when Buffy was dead (at the beginning of 6th season). So it's not her torch. I guess there could be another called slayer they don't know about. Hum - what if it's Dawn. What if that's why she's not a potential. Wow. That's a thought. What if there are 3 slayers now & it's making the First edgy, combined with the fact that a slayer shouldn't have lived this long making the line vulnerable. With this age theory in mind - how old is Faith? They've never said only I am left with the impression that Faith's at least a year younger. If Faith were 15 when she was in Sunnydale, went to jail at 16. She'd be 19 now. Doesn't she also get a special consideration for jailtime if she were a minor (I've never thought of any of that before). What if both Buffy & Faith will have to sacrifice themselves for the line of slayer? Another thing running off this theory - what if Dawn is a slayer, Kennedy will become a slayer in place of Buffy & one of the other girls will take it in place of Faith (if Buffy & Faith die) - that gives a possibility of a spinoff with 3 slayers. That would be really interesting. & Aly Hannigan (who, btw, is engaged now to Alexis Denisof - ain't it cute!) would stay on. Everyone could really stay on even if SMG decided to split. But it would be a totally new show. Interesting. BACK TO THE EPISODE AT HAND: Where to start. I mainly want to talk about Amy & Buffy's choice concerning Spike. Little comments first. Switching between Willow & Warren really worked well - way better than "Who Are You" (they should have done it like that in "Who Are You"). I can't believe they went into the Initiative. Ew. Ya know - not to nitpick but that place was supposed to be filled with concrete. Lazy government workers! Willow stopping Moulin Rouge at chapter 32 before she dies. That's great. I do that with Titanic. I only watch the first tape & stop it before the boat hits the iceberg right after Rose says she's leaving with Jack. hehe. On to Amy. Wow. When I thought saw was turned around I kept thinking how good that was & she was just messed up cause of her mom. But I guess Amy just has massive problems. She works with a good witch group but secretly does hexes & deeply resents Willow. It's just sad. We know Amy's whole life. I just think it's all just sad. Poor little lost Amy - & ya know, she's never going to turn around. But Elizabeth Anne Allen was great as a bad guy. She rocked. All that happened still didn't explain how she knew Kennedy was a potential. Did Amy spy or is she aligned with the First? Lastly - Buffy's choice. Well, if she chooses to repair the chip it will probably degrade again & she can't always be there to call the military to repair it... & if she has the chance to take it out & doesn't then it means she doesn't believe in Spike. But - if it were up to me, I'd take it out. Because he has a soul & I'd just take it out & let him make his own choices. If he chose wrong, well, then that just gives Buffy the warrant to kill him. But something that worries me is the comment that led to my crazy theory. That was a knowing comment on Spike's part. What if taking out that chip will be Buffy's downfall. Or maybe Spike subconsciously knows about Buffy because his mind-controlled self knows, that side isn't affected by the chip anyway. I just hope it all works out for the best (as if the people are real & stuff & it matters). READ the end of Buffy & Angel Fanfic I constantly refer to
Angel 2-6-03 "Soulless" - To add to this week's crazy theories: I think Conner's involved. It's just little things I pick up on, most of them I don't even remember now but it's like when they went to the house of the Sevaya (don't know how to spell) family that was killed - he cried because it was a family. He cried because maybe he realized what he had destroyed. He told Angelus that Angelus was his real father... it's just a bunch of little things but I really think somehow Conner's involved with the Beast. & they're throwing us off. It's so obvious that the writers make us deal with it early on & then Conner stays upset people think they're connected, so we forget - but I really think that he knows more than he's saying. If Angelus told the truth about what happened long ago with the Beast - the Beast would want some pretty big payback. Angelus's declining cost him big. &, keep in mind, he was banished. Maybe he went to Kortoff (again, don't know how to spell). Maybe he was in the same place Conner was. Maybe Conner wanted a chance to bring Angel to his true form. But, bare in mind, I don't know how much Conner knew about Angel (as opposed to Angelus) back in Kortoff. Always remember about those prophecies about Conner's birth. They weren't good happy things. This is just a running crazy theory. & watching it again - I don't believe it at all. Conner cried because he saw a family & he knows he's never had one. His one is really, super messed up. I want to focus my energy on Conner but I'm not sure if he's the one. They said someone would die next week - I bet it's Fred. But, this is what I think - there's a build up of psychological tension. Overall I keep getting the feeling about the Inside Job thing. &, who knows, it could even be Gwen. She is a thief, she could have stolen Angel's soul. That would explain about Mannie - cause this Inside Job thing - well, Angel was in a cage this time around. But, I really get the sense of this great tension build up & that all of this is someone we trust. Hut - what if Cordy never came back.... you see my suspicious thing right now. Moving on: just cause I said what I just said, don't think I believe Angelus about his version of the story about the Beast. I didn't buy it. Wow- Oedipus - I never even put that together before. That's rich. Good to bring up my girl, Faith. I can't wait to see her prove herself. She is my long-running belief - I've waited to see her turn around & do good for four years. Last little thing: I had this thought. Lorne said about the Beast last week - "Ram horns & goat legs". Well, RAM horns, goat legs - which are like deer legs (Hart). Wolf eyes. Hum. That's kinda interesting. Oh, I lied - one more thing. Reading over my end of Buffy & Angel fanfics the other day I remembered a long forgotten thing: Angel was mysteriously brought out of hell back when Buffy sent him there. Who did that & who brought Cordelia down from the higher realms could be connected. They'll probably never explain any of these things. But maybe.
