Basic Tags Assignment
Using an ASCII text editor (such as NOTEPAD), create a web page that uses the (tags)
tags from Chapters 1-4. Be sure to check for spelling/grammatical errors before
you upload your webpage to Geocities.

b. p - paragraph
c. br - break
d. b - bold
e. i - italics
f. u - underline
g. color (use font attributes to make at least one word
stand out)
h. font size (at least 2 obvious different font sizes in the main body. This does not
count your headings)
i. Use special character codes and make the less than and greater than symbols display in
your webpage < and > (p.34 in textbook)
j. HTML, TITLE, HEAD, BODY (Be sure to include all of these elements)
k. HR
l. Background color <body bgcolor="#ffffcc"> You may replace
this with any RBG number.
m. Background image-There are many free backgrounds on the web. You may
- Find and save a free background from a website of your choice. (right click on the background image you like/save)
(If you don't have an appropriate background image, go to Netscapes Backgrounds
and follow their instructions.)
- Your background color will be covered up
by your background image and will only show if someone has their browser images
turned off but I want to see it in your HTML code
n. img - image - Find a website that provides free images (not
copyrighted) and insert an image
to this webpage. (search for free clipart) or WTC students may
check a digital camera out from our library and take your own digital pictures.

After completing this assignment, save the file as - basic.html - and upload it to Geocities. Don't forget that you will also have to upload your
graphic file to Geocities.

Email me with the url to your basic.html webpage after it is uploaded and
you are ready for it to be graded.
