It is fine if this information changes during the semester but I want to see that you are working on Defining and Designing your website. Spend some time looking for images/backgrounds that you like. Look at other webpages and decide on colors that you want to use. Think about the information/content you want to share with others on your website. We are just planning on paper in this assignment. You do not actually have to write any html this week. Print out and turn in on Tuesday, October 29.

I know you may not know all the file names or image names but BEGIN planning and come up with some plans that you MIGHT use. This is a work in progress and will probably change several times over the course of the semester. Use your Problem Solving/Programming Steps as you develop this website. It is easier to make changes on paper than it is in your HTML. The more planning you put into the initial stage could save you many hours of work trying to rewrite your html.

The website you design for this class will be on a topic of your choice. It will include the homepage which introduces your website in addition to 3  additional pages that support your homepage. You might consider:

  • Personal website about yourself or a hobby (could include resume, experiences, news, family...)
  • Business/marketing website-Do you have a product that you/someone you know would like to sell over the Internet?
  • Advocacy page about a cause, opinion or idea
  • If you have a research paper/report for another class, you could write a website that would serve two purposes by sharing this information electronically over the Internet.

The choice is up to you. This week you will just send me your ideas which you have typed into a word processor.
