I’m beginning to know your children
From the things I’ve heard you tell
From the pictures that you’ve brought here
I think I know them well.
Our hurt and sorrow is immense
I’m not sure where to start
Compassion, after all, is
Your pain in my heart.
My thanks to you for listening
To words wrung from my soul
We are The Compassionate Friends
That’s all I need to know.
