Det Danny McGregor is a former Belfast policeman who moved to Washington because his last job "started getting a little too dangerous."  Has a son but is otherwise a mystery.  Seems to have an eye for Deputy Mayor Mitchell. Becomes a part of the Chief's inner circle after he helps to catch the man who murdered Ella Farmer's sister.  When Chief Mannion asks Ella if she knows any good cops, she names Det McGregor and Officer Temple Page (the Chief's Driver).
