PRESENT CONTINUOUS
El tiempo Presente Progresivo se usa para hablar de acciones que se llevan a cabo en el momento en que se está hablando.
Su estructura para los enunciados afirmativos es la siguiente:
Subject(sujeto)+ Verb To Be (am,is,are)+ Verb with -ing (verbo principal con -ing) + complement.
Ejemplos:
Lisa+ is+ studying + english.
Bob and Martha+ are+ cleaning + the kitchen.
REGLAS PARA AGREGAR EL-ING A LOS VERBOS EN EL TIEMPO PRESENT CONTINUOUS
1.- Si la forma simple de un verbo termina en Y solo agrega la terminación ing. Ejemplo:
play = playing
study = studying
2.- Si la forma simple de un verbo termina en e elimina la e y agrega el ing . Ejemplos:
take = taking
make = making
3.- Si la forma simple de un verbo termina en consonante-vocal-consonante repite la última consonante y después agrega el ing
Esta regla solo se aplica a verbos cortos.
Ejemplos:
sit + ing = sitting
run + ing = running
stop + ing = stopping

Verbos que no se usan normalmente en el Present Continuous.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS YES/NO QUESTIONS
Para formar preguntas de respuesta si/ no en el presente continuo solo se lleva al verbo to be (am/is/are) al principio de la pregunta y todo lo demás queda igual. Por ejemplo:
is+Lisa+ studying + english?
are+Bob and Martha+cleaning + the kitchen?

Para mostrar poseción agrega un apostrofe(') y (s) a un sustantivo singular: Ejemplos: The boy's book is on the table. My wife's purse is in the bedroom.

Si un sustantivo singular termina en (s) Hay dos formas posibles: a) Agrega un apostrofe (') y (s) Ejemplo: Thomas's book. b) Agrega solo un apostrofe ('). Ejemplo: Thomas' book.

Con los sustantivos plurales que terminan en (s) solo agrega un apostrofe (') para mostrar poseción. Ejemplos: The boys' books are on the table. Their wives' purses are in the bedroom.

Para los sustantivos plurales que no terminan en (s) agrega apostrofe(') y (s). Ejemplos: The men's books are on the table. My children's friends are playing.
