Teacher Advantage
Dear
Teacher Applicant:
Thank
you for your interest in teaching in the United States.
Currently,
many urban school districts in the United States are experiencing critical
shortages of teachers, especially in the subjects of math, sciences, and
languages. Some districts are very open to hiring well-educated and highly
qualified teachers from other countries. Starting salaries in urban public
schools average about $35,000 plus benefits and other inducements.
The
United States federal government has recently approved teachers in math,
sciences and languages for a special professional temporary visa that is good
for up to 6 years. These visas can be awarded in a shorter time (4-6 months)
than regular visas.
To
help ensure that your application for referral and placement by Teacher
Advantage is given the attention you deserve, we have developed a systematic
review and screening process. The process works best for those applicants who
submit the following items:
·
A
completed application form
·
A
resume
·
Academic
transcripts of all college and university coursework
·
All
teacher certificate documentation
·
Three
letters of recommendation
These
materials will be reviewed and scored by a trained screener who will focus on
the following criteria:
Undergraduate
academic record. Teaching
experience
English
language proficiency Knowledge
of United States culture
Awards/Honour/Recognition Professional affiliations
The
screening score that results from this process will be used to help determine
those applicants who will be invited for an interview. By addressing your
application materials to the criteria reviewed during the screening process,
you help us become better acquainted with your potential as a classroom teacher
in the United States.
We
look forward to receiving and reviewing your application materials.
