1990-present: - Assistant Professor at Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj, Department of Organic Chemistry, teaching Organic Chemistry, and Heterogeneous Catalysis. Supervising student-teaching at schools for ~ 5 years (1990-1995)

1998:- one-year visiting scientist at University of Southern California, Loker Hydrocarbon Research Institute (Director Professor George A. Olah, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry), working on catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide into useful organic compounds

1996-1997: - two years visiting scientist position at University of Twente, Faculty of Chemical Technology, Catalytic Processes and Materials Group (leader Professor Johannes A. Lercher), performing research on FT-IR microscopic investigation of metal substituted AlPO4-5 and zeolite single crystals, and on reductive amination of carbonyl compounds over supported group VIII noble metal catalysts (6 confidential reports to a Dutch company)

1994-1995: - visiting scientist at Institute of Isotopes, Hungarian Academy of Science, Spectroscopy Department (leader Professor Janos Mink), working on FT-IR study of the mechanism of heterogeneous Rh-catalyzed methanol carbonylation, and on emission FT-IR spectroscopic study of adsorbed CO on metal powders and supported catalysts

1979-1990: - Research Associate at the Institute of Chemistry, Cluj, working on synthesis and thermal decomposition of metal carbonyls (Ni, Fe, Co), Co and Rh-catalyzed hydroformylations, heterogeneous and homogeneous Rh-catalyzed hydratocarbonylation of olefins and carbonylation of alcohols, and Fischer-Tropsch synthesis
