Day 4: Materials: Textbook, compass, ruler. Overhead. Do Now: Have students write the converse of some mathematical statements. This will be a good introduction to the converse lesson. Hand in homework for a grade. In-class Lecture: Go over theorem 9.5, Converse of the Pythagorean theorem, and show how it is applied in some examples. Then going over examples 1 and 2, and theorems 9.6 and 9.7. In-class activity: Lesson investigation: Investigating Triangle Lengths. First a statement about Pythagorean triples and instructions for the activity. This will have the students measure the angles of triangles. Pg. 441. Go over activity at the end of class. Homework: pgs 444-445. 1-31(odd) Mid-Chapter Self-Test, to be turned in for a grade. Pg. 447, 1-20
