Reflective Statements
While student teaching I learned a lot about my self and about teaching. I learned that you can never know enough about anything, not matter what you think. Students will always be able to ask that one question that you were not ready for and that will get you. You can never know you students well enough either. While at Salem High School I worked with many great kids, all of whom had different stories and different pasts. I felt that the more I got to know my students, they more they started to work with me as a teacher, they began to trust me. Another piece of information that I was able to learn was something a student told me and it goes like this, " Do not ever stop listening to the students." When I heard this I really thought about what she had said. It is probably the best statement about education I can think of because we are doing this for one reason only, the students; so we should listen to them. One last thing I would like to say I have learned is to make friends with everyone you can. Teachers will be your friends, they will help you when you are unclear on something and they are the best resources ever!!
