My name is Teal Shaun Holland.
My interests are quite eclectic.
I like anything that is fun and intriguing. Right now, at my age,
I focus most of my time and energy on my social life. I'm like any
college student today. I have no idea where I'm going or what I'm
going to do with my life in the future, but one thing is for sure, I'M
GOING TO HAVE A LOT OF FUN WHILE I CAN!
note to viewers:

College? What am I
doing here?
somebody
tell me what i'm doing here! so far, i'm just going with the
flow. i am a freshman, currently in my second semester, at Texas
Lutheran University. i started out as a music major and then
decided that it wasn't the way i wanted to go anymore. i have now
become "one of those undecided majors," as they say. when anyone
asks me what my major is, and i answer undecided, they say "oh, so you're
one of those." what's that supposed to mean?! anyway,
here's a list of classes that i have taken and a list of classes i'm currently
taking, including comments about each course.
First
Semester Courses
-
Music Theory
I--very
fun class. i had to study very hard! it was like a music and
math class all in one. my professor was very cool and we goofed off
a lot. however he grew tired of trying to be "the cool teacher" and
made us settle down. but it was all good. i made an A!
-
English Composition
and Communication I--pretty
big title for an english class huh? this was a complete pushover
course...well, it was for me at least. i've always been good in english.
my professor was very dramatic. he made us read stories and use emotion.
we had to give it character. we wrote one page papers for every class
meeting which were pretty simple...not too much thinking involved.
i also made an A in this class.
-
Exploring
the Arts and Sciences--oh
the anguish! this class was a real pain. it was a liberal arts
class that taught about society and human nature. quite boring sometimes,
but i liked reading Brave New World. i'm sorry to say that i made
a C in this course. but i did make a 99 on one of the tests!
-
TLU Concert
Band--i
play french horn for the college band. we met everyday for this class.
another real pain, but playing music is fun and very enriching to me.
this class always made my day.
Second Semester Courses<
i bet he's dizzy
-
Introduction
to Theology--this
is one of those required classes that you just want to get over with.
well, i just want to get it over with. i'm sure there are many others
that feel the same. my prof is pretty cool though, so the class isn't
that bad so far...just a lot of reading.
-
Health Related
Fitness--now
this is a wonderful class. i don't like working out all the time
but it's good for me and i finally have the incentive to actually improve
my body. i wouldn't be in the fitness center at all if it weren't
for this class. we work out and do activities and we also have lecture
days where we learn health stuff and then take tests. i highly recommend
this class for your own benefit. that mile and half timed run sure
is tough for me. my first run was timed at 16:27 and my second was
timed at 14:45. i made a pretty good improvement, and i almost killed
myself doing it! just one more timed mile and a half near the end
of the semester!
-
College Algebra--this
class is way too easy...well at least for me. i went through calculus
in high school, so this class is boring to me. if you want an easy
A, and you're good with algebra, take this class.
-
English II--my
teacher is great, but i'm not liking the class that much. we do a
lot of argumentative stuff over current issues, we analyze stories, and
all that annoying stuff. but it's required so i'm suffering through
it.
-
Applications
Software--the
part i like about this class is what i'm doing right now...playing on the
internet and designing a web page. everything else has been a repeat
of my high school computer courses. so i've been pretty bored.

Resume
Educational
Background
I
graduated from Shiner High School in Shiner, Texas. I was a part
of many scholastic and extracurricular activities including band and the
National Honor Society. I participated in the University Interscholastic
League (UIL) all four years. I competed in journalism writing news
and feature stories. I won quite a few awards, one of them was first
at the district level for news writing my senior year.
Work
Experience
I
worked as a waitress for two years at a little cafe in Shiner.
We served mexican dishes as well as steaks and burgers. I enjoyed
this job very much, but i was forced to quit because i was going to college.
I am currently
working in the snack bar here at school. I make and deliver pizza
as well as making sub sandwiches. Sometimes I work the grill, but
I haven't been properly trained yet. I plan on working there as long
as possible. I am accustomed to working for one employer for a long
period of time.
