Over a hundred skaters cruised through Pasir Ris Park on the Sunday morning of 7 April in SkateAid 2002, a charity event in support of the Children's Cancer Foundation (CCF). Organised jointly by NTUC Club and Skateline, the morning's program included skate demonstrations by speed, hockey, fitness and aggressive skaters. Team SpeedVirus is very honoured to be a part of the demostrative contingent giving the public an insight into speed skating.

The event started with a leisure skate out of NTUC Pasir Ris Resort into the Pasir Ris Park itself, maneouvering till the elias end of the park and turning back, Viruses were on hand to provide the excitement and challenges for the children and more gamed adults to "chase". Realising that we are "playing cheat" cos we have 1 xtra wheel per skate! Ahh! the perks of speedskating huh!

This event was held to raise funds for the Children's Cancer Foundation, and what better way to do it than thru having fun and thru organising healthy activities. Great work to the organisers and hope to see the likes of many of such events in the coming future...
