Team SpeedVirus has come a long way. From being a small informal group where likeminded speedsters come together to train and skate to improve and have fun, to being the pioneering team to start localised time trials, organising and participating in charity and fun events, playing important roles in steering the direction of the sport in tie ups with various organisations and the local NSA - InSSAS.

It was thus an important event marking our FIRST anniversary, charting our progress, and no matter what others think or say about us, we know that we have "been there, done that!" Organising the event was no small task, organising food decoration themes, and the preparation of the "pavalion" set all the Viruses bustling and pumping (...balloons man!! What were u thinking...) hahaha! Everyone on hand were busy either tieing balloons, wrapping pillars with decorative papers, setting up the drinks, BBQ pits and stands... and snapping quick shots with the digicam.

The first fire was started! Pits are hot! Viruses and Guests are hungry! All good to go! But everyone knows, the first batch of food off a new pit is always experimental, fire is always too hot! But we've got a good rhythm going, and soon.. the BBQ pits looked like a production line of chicken wings, napoleons and franks all sizzling away. And of course, the smell in the air was FANTASTIK!!.

Soon more and more guests arrived, guided by the aroma of the grills, and the balloons strung up in a "V". They too, were immediately won over by the casualness of the party and we soon grilling, eating and drinking away. Kids were not daunted by the numbers of adults too, having their own fun of "skewer arrows". The slight drizzle became a big downpour.. and we were rushing to protect our fire!! covering the pits with aluminium foil. Was it too hot? Even the aluminium foil caught fire! Gosh!!

Then came the highlight of the day... prize givewaways! Various members of TSV were awarded their plaques and giftbags, presented by Prof Sim Meng Kwoon. Members of TBS were also presented and awarded the Team Bont uniforms. It was indeed a very proud and heart warming time. For the viruses who received the awards and mention, congratulations! And for all other viruses who did not make it this time round, there is always the next league! To top off the excitement and heightened interest, we were happy to have some of our founding viruses join us on such a happy occasion, and esp our ex-captain, James, who so generously donated a bottle of champagne to christen our 1st year. It was champagne popping time and so shook the bottle holder, woops, its shook the bottle.. and "POP" goes the cork. The staff of Carrie Makeup Studio, sponsored a very delicious *burp* honey apple cake, that dissapeared in no time, and frens and supporters who also brought cakes, fruits to help us celebrate! We would like to take this time to express our thanks!!!

To round it up, looking back at the past 1 year as experience to draw our team stronger, and to chart a higher ceiling for improvement, and together with what we have been doing right, TSV is set to achieve bigger, better things. We would like to thank all supporters, frens, founding members, present members, administrators and sponsors for the great 1 year we have had, and many more to come! Three cheers for everyone...
