k, so i figure i should start writin this post before i get totally shitfaced later...
to Kristin and Steve...i'm so unbelievably proud of you and equally as happy for you both...
to my dad...a rendition of a drunken kristin quote...HEY GARTH...KRISTIN JUST GOT MARRIED!
so the day started off with a weird note after a drunken night before...something i know i shouldn't have done but did anyway. i almost put my first new post in ages as a rant against something that was needless to happen...glad i didn't. instead i'm gonna make a quick note about how two people i grew up with in different times and never woulda thought this would happen with until it came to things more than 2 years ago...now i'm sitting here, sept 25th 2004, stoked (a word i'd never use) about the fact they just got married! no words can explain it...i grew up playin baseball (nathan hopper should correct me if i'm wrong, we had an ok year) and goin to class at the ole RJHS with steve...winnin ball teams and crazy afternoons in class watchin a bucket fall from the class above...(it was tied to a string with something to the effect of "have a nice day...class 9 (insert the letter i can't remember here), skatin (something i watched and never participated in), sellin part of his lunch so he could buy some smokes, either way, there's no denyin steve left an impression as well as always bein an all around cool guy...and people that know me know i don't forget a person that is actually real. as for kristin...i'm allowed to be more of a bastard freehand here being a longtime close friend...but hey, kristin hun, it'd be wrong to lie (something you know i don't do well at)...that girl has always been someone that since i've known her, i've been able to be one on one with...someone that even when times changed and people hung out in new places, i could always call if things went fucked. i knew steve first but i knew kristin best...and i can't tell someone about a more reliable person. from meetin this girl when she was datin a buddy of mine when i was livin in dieppe to talkin bout shit on nicole's front step to my random smoke stops on my way home from work at UPS...and on through my stay in toronto and home...roommates and more random shit...i'm being vague cuz there's too much stuff that it's gonna take a novel to explain...but for smartass sakes, i can tell you a story about this girl (kristin, you're never gonna live this down). one of the funniest things i've ever seen came from kristin...and i wish i had a camera for it. her and i and cara went out for a good night of drinkin (and babblin) and after several beers (steve, i'll tell you the story in person someday so it makes more hilarious sense), kristin was to stay at my house and as we were walkin in the door, i made sure to ask her to be quiet cuz dad was sleepin and his girlfriend was in town from newfie island...big mistake. no sooner had i got the words out of my mouth, kristin yelled (read the above quote) "HEY GARTH, I'M HOME!!!". needless to say he walked into the room she was crashed in the next mornin and woke her up at 9am with a "what did you want last night when you woke me up?". it was one of many good stories and i'm sure i'm gonna be a dead man for that one. but with the night coming to an end, i wanna say one more thing again...thank you both for some good times, words can't explain how happy i am for you both...congrats, that was an awesome wedding and reception and i couldn't have picked a better pair to have seen go through it. as i said, i wish you both the best...AND...kristin, teach your boy this one thing...DITHSHES... zwixxx
