now...the story on the pope...i mean god's view on the pope...or maybe just mine. am i gonna get shot down for saying once again that this is so screwed up that it's stupid? then again if there was a populous vote on who would be pope i'm sure that the west would have a pot smoking/beer drinking/sexual maniac for a pope...i'm predicting it woulda been howard stern. no, god didn't really make the opening comment but i'm sure he would've. i read something in the paper today that says the canadian cardinals were defending their choice. the title goes something like this, "world must change, not church". says the vatican. i'd ask who gave them the right to decide society but i'd get some emails telling me it was god...it wasn't. yes the west is sometimes a mess but the ignorance we face comes most times from the same people that claim to be deeply religious. this fight by the vatican and it's wacko cronies to turn us all into "acceptance to everyone except you cuz you ain't right" needs to be corrected. electing the rottweiler to be the next pope would be ok if the world hadn't progressed. john paul was nothing more than a fascinating person to meet by the time he passed. he was a great for the fact that he was intrumental in mending sores between the church and other religions but the guy was oblivious to other things. i agree that the vatican is the best powerhouse to keep the world balanced from the chaos that's sometimes coming out of the world but at the same time there's some things that need to change. having been a man that's never had sex, he shouldn't talk on contraception, homosexuality or sex before marriage. with the HIV rampant in the third world you'd think that someone of saving grace would want to promote something that would protect people. homosexuality...we won't touch that topic again...see previous rants...and sex before marriage? maybe i'm not the person to touch that either. by watching the leader of the religious world talk about acceptance but no women runnin the church while slowly watching the number of priests decline while there's millions of nuns is the vatican equivalent of telling a woman that she can go to a mall but can't buy anything. i know not all girls shop...but not all girls love jesus.
i guess to say that i'm a disolusioned catholic that wants out is pretty obvious. i try to consider myself a realist but just don't see the vatican as real...let alone the stories they tell about jesus, or any story that makes like the church is any less corrupt than the current scandal rocking the the canadian liberal party.
