Doolittle Beach is a subsection of the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline in Oakland. It is located on the south side, along Doolittle Drive. There is a cafe, but we've never seen it open. There are lots of picnic table, some BBQ pits, scrawny tree, and a small open field. A two-lane boat launch is located at the other side of the parking lot. Motorized boats and hovercraft are not allowed in the marshland areas, but it's great for canoes and kayaks. There are trails for hiking, biking, running and jogging. Along the trail on the east side of the park, there is an exercise course. If you have a state fishing permit, you can also fish along the piers. See additional information at the East Bay Regional Park site. |
