Operation of an Autococker
The Autococker is one of the most popular guns used in tournaments. The base prices is reasonable but a custom autococker can become rediculously expensive. The odd thing is, most of the Autococker users cannot time their gun properly. To time your 'cocker properly, you first need to know how it works. There are two steps to the autococker:
-Fire
-Recock

To do this, pneumatics on the front of the gun assists the process. Back in the day, players did not have pneumatics on their guns and had to pump it. Now a days, the pneumatics do the job. Now, what are the pneumatics consisted of and what is their job?

Ram - Open/Close the bolt and cock the gun
4-Way - Switch air from the front to the back of the ram.
LPR Reg - Lowers the pressure for the ram, aftermarket pieces are adjustable so you can have a very low cocking pressure and not chop balls.

Now that you know what the main components are, I'll explain the firing process.

First half of the trigger pull:
-The sear goes down
-Sear lug goes forward
-Sear lug hits the valve
-Valve releases air and fires the ball.

Second half of the trigger pull:
-
4-way switches air front the back of the ram to the front of the ram, or biversa if you are using a hinge trigger.
-Ram pushes the backblock back cocking the gun
-The trigger is released
-The sear goes back up and catches the sear lug
-The gun is ready to be fired again.

Now that you know how the gun works, you can start working on how to time the gun. Which I will explain in another article.
