Radar Station Rame Head | Rame
Chapel
Cornwall |
WWII
This concrete base is the remains of a radar station built during world war two. It formed part of a ground control interception station (CGI). Two mounting plates can be seen set in the concrete for the masts and mounting bolts existed in the cut out in the concrete. It was possible that some equipment was housed in the chapel. Another building existed downslope but this was demolished in the 70s(?) and only rubble remains. Ref: Historic defences of Plymouth:Woodward. |
