Mark Goodchild takes back seat in the team
Mark Goodchild, a quick F3 driver has informed the team that he will not be teking a primary seat in Marico F3 car, due to the lack of time, however he did inform the team that he will stay in a testing role. This news just came through and  obviosly team owner Vlad Myrsikov has expressed his desatisfaction with this late desition by Mark. I'm unhappy that Mark has not informed me earlier about his desition to take the back seat with the team. I'm now have a difficult task of recruiting a new driver for F3 division and as far as I checked there aren't any that are free(one team, one driver entry) in F3. I'm most likely to promote a driver through inside the team or the other possibility remains is to recruit a new driver from lower ranks, who would like to drive for a top team like us. I certainly hope to find somebody soon because it'll be very hard to in OTC or in any kind of championship for that matter if we got only 11 drivers in the team.

Qualifying Report(Monaco)

Provisional results for Monaco have been released. Team performed better then expected with 2 cars in 4th on the grid for the race, being Mike Forster(F1) and Vlad Myrsikov(F3000), closely followed by Andre(F3000), just 0.009tenth back in 5th. Team Owner was really pleased with the results, especially after he made it clear that Monaco would be the worst track for the whole season for the team, due to tyre/chassis/engine selection. "I am surpriced a bit with the result. I expected to have a car in top 6 in F1, but defenetly not F3000." The disapointment of the day was the quickness of Equinoxe in qualifying, grapping all spots above Marico, however the good news is that Quicksilver did not qualify at all well. Mike Forster was pleased witht he result after his qualifying, he also said: "Fourth is okay, but maybe I could have been third with more effort. Bandito and Svan look catchable(in F1)". Vlad Also was pleased with his performance in qualifying:"I defenetly didn't expect to be in 4th, especially remembering last year (qualified 7th), I also outqualified my teammate, so everything is looking good and I hope to have a good race". Andre Kikkert was a bit disapointed after qualifying 5th, only 0.009s behind his teammate: "I couldn't get the last sector right. I was quicker the Vlad in first in second sectors, by about 0.2s, but then I was loosing it in the last. I hope to do well in the race"
All eyes are now focused on the race, particularly for the fact that there's no reloading allowed in F1 and F3000, which is a new thing for all the drivers.

Vlad practices for Spa 1000

Vlad Myrsikov has desided to takeup the challenge of running a 1000km Spa endurance race. Spa was never good track for him, finishing behind his teammate the only time last year. "Spa, for some reason, has never been kind to me. I think that good prictice won't hert me, besides, Spa is second on gp2champ calendar."  The best time that he's run at the circuit was 1.48.836 and that time was 1.4s improvement on the best lap until them. "I think I did Bus Stop with my ayes closed. I went all over the kerbs and everything, the car was flying aroung, bouncing up and down, and I went millimeters away from heavily crashing into walls. I never gone that fast through bus stop and that was scary. Vlad has vertually no chance at winning the race, but he sais that it'll be a good feeling to finish the race without "...wiping the wall the the car at the exit of Bus stop."

Monaco to be the season opener.

There has been a significant debate about the venue that should start the new gp2champ season. It's now definitely that the season will start at Monaco after Jonathan Edgar has released an official statement to the administrators explaining the reasons. He said that he wanted to have his own calendar, which will be unique to his league. He also stated that Monaco has been a season opener for quite a long time in earlier days, and he feels that that's the right way to go.
Testing of the new track venues has also continued, and it's now likely that the second race on the calendar Spa will be a new track. Such decision did not come easy, as Jonathan Edgar was keen to have the Original Spa in place, however after lengthy attempt by Vlad to convince Edgar, of the advantages of the new venue, he finally gave in. The new Spa will not be much different from Spa 94, but the walls at the bus stop chicane will be much wider then on 94 version. Other improvements are the complete left kerb at Eau Rouge(as opposed to two), and a better graphics. Jonathan Edgar has however said that the only 2 reasons why he's using the new track was because it's "...more realistic then original Spa...", and he found the track itself "...much better then the original..."
The schedule had also been taking shape as everyone prepares for season to open in few weeks. The schedule will be a cocktail of original tracks together with newer F1 tracks like Indy, as well as some historical and fiction tracks. Even though the provisional track schedule has been posted to pittalk a while back, there are still few tracks that need to be decided.

Champ to move to F3000?

Vlad Myrsikov has been drafted to race in the F3000 driver lineup for the next season. The move is very surprising. It was expected that the current F3 champion will stay in that class to defend his title. The rummer is that the one and only reason that Vlad has moved to F3000, at a cost of Diego Barcos who drops to F3, is the fact that he want more and more to win OTC title. The theory has been disproved however at a press conference with the driver. "It's a bit funny how I've decided to move to F3000. I've been extensively testing, with what I believed to be F3 car, the whole summer. The car felt extremely good, it really felt like a dream, I could drive fast and then just step on it and take 1-1.5s of the previous lap. Then one day I was discussing with the team on what we should use as our car settings for next season, and it was then that I've realised that I was testing F3000 instead of F3. I just said to myself "Oh, Well" and from then I've decided to move to F3000, and not for any other reason." F3000 class presents in itself a new challenge to all drivers with reloads banned. It's been well known that Vlad has never gone the whole race distance without reloading, and it's also well known that his race performances are much better then his qualifying ones. It's maybe a possibility that this season the driver who won a title without a single pole position maybe able to prove just how good he is, or maybe not.

Marico confirms 9 driver lineup

Marico Racing officials have today confirmed that there will be a total of nine definite drivers lining up for the upcoming championship season at gp2champ. There has been a series of successful talks with other drivers which means that there might as well be a full squad of drivers lining up to face an uprising battle from Equinoxe Racing. "The atmosphere inside the team is great and we're anxious to get the first race underway. We don't expect a great results from all the drivers, but we're hoping that the top four can shine through and score most of the points, and most importantly take points away from Equinoxe. It's important to remember the whole team though, the main goal here is to win OTC and that can only be done with a full commitment of all drivers. One thing I tell you right now is that it's a long season and whatever happens in the first couple of races is not an indicator to the performance of the team" - Vlad
