1/4/01 It's only Rd 3 and Team Pump are already showing the ability that labelled them the early season premiership favourites and the team to beat in 2001. With possibly the best list ever assembled on paper it seems only natural that the PUMP take out this years flag, but Captain Big Poppa Pump vows there's a long way to go and the PUMP are just taking it one week at a time. After defeating Timmy quite comfortably this week the Pump have cemented a place on top of the ladder and are looking the team to beat. BPP: It's really too early to be making statements like that. We're sitting on top of the ladder after 3 rounds but the seasons only just started, there's still a long way to go. I must admit on paper we do look an awesome outfit. I mean, take the likes of Jod23, Creator, THE ICON, Joey, Daddy4Eyes and Macca19 and put them in Team Kournikova and see how quickly they'll rise up the ladder. We have a great team here, but any team can be beaten on any given day. 17/2/01 Another practise match and another win for Team Pump. All is looking sweet for the start of the season as Team Pump came out easy winners against a very disappointing Dingoes Team at The Bigfooty Dome earlier this afternoon. The Pump led from start to finish and took out the contest 24.20.164 to 17.14.116 Best: i_luv_westcoast, Dees01 For more info and match stats visit the Official SFA website at www.lexicon.net/POTOC/sweetFA.html 4/2/01 Team Pump have come out of their second practise match of the year victors, in a thriller over Team Timmy. PUMP: 19.10.124 Timmy: 18.12.120 After booting the first 8 goals of the match and taking an overwhelming 46pt lead into the first change, the Pump were cruising. But as the 2nd term got underway, The Pump got lazy and Team Timmy started pegging their way back into the match, and by 3/4 time the lead was cut down to just 25 pts. The last quarter was a beauty, and as Strengththroughloyalty booted his 5th, Team Timmy found themselves 3pts ahead. But, in typical Team Pump fashion, the Premiership favourites regrouped, Creator snapped the last one for the Pump and the Pump took out the game by 4 pts. Great Effort! BPP: I know it's only a praccy, but after last night, it was good just to see the boys get a win on the board. We went into that first quarter wanting to win and I think it showed on the scoreboard. We've got a few more weeks before the real stuff starts and if we can play out a whole game the way we played that first quarter tonight, I reckon it'd take a pretty good team to beat us. UP THE PUMP! 3/2/01 Practise match tonight- Team Pump VS Team Timmy. Look for a hard at it contest as Team Pump will be looking to make up for their loss to the Dragons. Catch it all live at www.bigfooty.com 2/2/01 Team Pump go down to the Dragons in a somewhat lackluster contest. Although Team Pump looked ordinary on the night, Captain Big Poppa Pump promises it's nothing to worry about. BPP: Win, lose or draw it was good to have a run before the year gets underway. With all the fitness training we've been doing, half our boys haven't touched the footy's in a while, so that probably explains our poor skill level. We'll work on that in the next couple of weeks, and by the time Rd 1 gets underway we should be roaring to go. 2/2/01 Latest results from the Team PUMP Poll show the majority of fans believe the PUMP will take out the Cup in 2001.
