"Stop right there, pretty boy!"
Jeff cursed under his breath, closed the door he was trying to
sneeak out of and turned back around to see Amy standing there
looking straight into his eyes with her hands on her hips.
Matt and Jeff both were about fussed out by Amy because of the
conversation they had with Shane. They knew this because of the
look she had on her face from the moment she stepped into their
hotel room. Amy had focused her attention on Matt for a minute
and Jeff's intention was to sneak out but he failed.
"I can't believe that the two of you, of all people, would
do such a thing!"
"What are you talking about, Amy?" Jeff asked, rolling
his eyes.
"Jeff, you better watch that attitude of yours...especially
with me being in the mood I'm in right now." Amy said, in a
serious tone.
"I just wanna know why you're mad." Jeff replied.
"Nora told me about that conversation you had with
Shane."
"What is it with you and Nora lately? Y'all have been all
buddy buddy since Shane started talking to her. You're always
insitgating in their business. Why won't just leave them
alone?" Matt said.
"You must be talking to the wall 'cause I know you ain't
talking to me." Amy sarcastically smiled.
"Amy, come off it. We weren't the ones talking about Nora. I
just asked him if she was good in the bedroom. I didn't mean that
as if she was some kind of prostitute. Jeff didn't do anything
wrong either. It was Shane, not us." Matt said, doing his
best to defend their innocence.
"But you laughed at what he said. If Shane is so consumed by
sex rather than being committed to a real realtionship, then he's
got the wrong girl."
"Look, this whole situation is between Shane and Nora, we'll
only make it worse by sticking our noses in their personal
business. Let's just stay out of it." Jeff said, looking at
the floor.
"I agree. Why are you so concerned about them anyway? You've
been spending more time with her than me."
"Nora really likes Shane. Y'all know Shane feels the same
way."
"Well, if you know that, then they won't be arguing like
this much longer. Let them straighten it out
themselves...please." Matt smiled up at Amy.
"Matt, save it. I mean, come on, don't y'all want them to
stay together? Shane has had so many women come & go in his
life. Nora means a lot to him. She feels the same way. Hasn't
Shane being acting all sad ever since that night?"
"Yeah, he's been looking kind of depressed. Nora has too. I
mean, I don't know her all that well but she usually looks happy
backstage, always has a smile on her face." Matt replied.
"Nora is my girl. I don't want her all heartbroken over
Shane. I just want them to get back together, guys."
"Like I said, if they feel that strong about each other,
then they will fix it themselves. We have our own personal lives
to attend to. Shane's like family to me but he's a grown man. He
can fix his own problems and Nora can too. Just leave them alone,
Amy." Jeff said before he sighed.
Amy saw the look in Jeff's eyes. She knew he was right. Jeff
barely gave her advice but when he did, he usually knew what he
was talking about. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and
bent down to kiss Jeff on the cheek.
"Alright, Jeff. I'll stay out of it...for you." She
smiled.
"That's my cue to leave." Jeff hapilly said before he
left the room.

Shane sat in his hotel room thinking about where in the hell he
went wrong. He wasn't a bad person. He was a pretty good guy. He
had an amazing job. He had great family, friends and fans. He
couldn't ask for more, except for someone who he could spend his
life with. A lot of girls played that role in Shane's life...but
for only a short period of time. He learned from his mistakes but
now, Shane knew he really messed up with Nora.
Realizing how much he cared about her, that was the last thing
that he wanted to do. At that moment, he longed to be holding her
in his arms, talking about various topics until she peacefully
fell asleep, knowing that Shane wouldn't let a thing harm her.
She was a very special person and he wanted her back. He needed
her back and he couldn't deny that fact any longer. Shane stood
up, grabbed his jacket & car keys and left the hotel room to
a destination that was unknown.

Nora stood in the steamy bathroom, wearing nothing but a rope,
coming out of a shower. She never understood why fate paired her
with guys who didn't know the value of a woman. Guys who were
afraid of commitment, guys who just wanted a good time, guys who
couldn't treat her fairly, guys who had other girls on the side.
Nora had experienced a lot of drama in her life and it still
wasn't over. She was so tired of all the drama in her life. She
had achieved her life long goal of being in the World Wrestling
Federation. She was a role model to girls in the world. She had a
very supportive family. When it came to relationships, that's
where things weren't so good.
Just when things seemed great, everything fell apart. She had no
idea about what she had done to deserve so many bad men. A good
man was so hard to find and Nora truly believed she had found
that in Shane. Nora realized that he had changed and that she
should've said something before everything got out of hand. Now,
it was too late. She wanted to talk to him and try to understand
why he wasn't the same Shane Helms she was best friends with in
WCW. That was the least she could do. She wanted to hear his
sweet country voice. She wanted to touch him and kiss him. He
seemed so far away even though he was in reach. Finally, Nora
decided that she couldn't take it anymore. She quickly took off
her robe, put on sweat pants & a white t-shirt and went to go
find the man she wanted to be with. As soon as she opened the
door, she was stopped dead in her tracks to see a letter taped on
the floor. She knew it was Shane's handwriting because he always
wrote with a green ink pen and that's exactly what she saw. She
bent down, took the piece of paper in her hands and began to
read.
**********
Dear Nora,
Hey, girl. If you're reading this, obviously you must miss
me...just as much as I miss you. I realized my mistake and
something is just telling me that I am not the man for you. You
deserve someone better than me. I guess I've learned that I have
a lot of growing up to do as far as a relationship is concerned.
I've been feeling real stressed out lately. Everything that has
been going on between you & me has had me real fucked up.
This WWF schedules is real hard to get adjusted to and I am just
so tired. I don't know what's going on with me right now. I need
to go find myself. I have no idea where I'm going but I just need
to get away for a little while. Please understand and don't come
looking for me. I'm sorry I couldn't the man you've been looking
for. I love you dearly.
Shane

By the time Nora had gotten to the second sentence, tears were
falling down her face. The tears wouldn't stop now that she
didn't know where Shane was, what he was going through and why he
was taking all the blame. Nora deserved some of the blame
herself. She didn't want to break up with Shane but he did. She
had to find him and just talk to him. She had to find him and
just hold him. She had to do something. She refused to just sit
in a hotel room and cry for the rest of that night. That wasn't
in her personality. She closed her door and ran up two flights of
stairs to Matt's room. She burst in, knowing that it was
unlocked. She rolled her eyes as she saw Matt rapidly taking off
his clothes as if he were about to have sex.
"Put your clothes back on and help me!" Nora said as
tossed Matt's shirt and pants to his face.
"What are you talking about?"
"Shane's gone. He left me this letter. He said he was real
stressed out and that he had to steal away for a little while but
I just know that he needs me even though that's not what he
thinks. Please, Matt. You're his best friend, you have got to
help me find him." Nora pleaded.
"Alright, my keys are on that dresser right there. You know
what the car looks like. Get the car fired up and I'll be there
in a minute." Matt replied.
"Thank you so much. I owe you one, sorry to interrupt your
moment with Amy." Nora said before she left the room, having
every intention to find Shane.
***********
"This is only last place I can think of." Matt sighed
as he pulled into a parking lot, hoping that this would their
last stop since he was tired.
"Barnes & Nobles? This is a bookstore, Matt!" Nora
replied.
"I know it sounds crazy but this could be it." Matt
said as they stepped into the crowded bookstore.
"I'm surprised we aren't getting recognized." Nora
commented as she looked at the people who acted as if they
weren't even there.
"Sometimes, you get recognized. Sometimes, you don't...and
look who it is behind door number two." Matt said pointing
to a comic book stand.
"Shane." Nora sighed, feeling a lot of relief
throughout her body.
"I knew he had to be here. Shane is crazy about comic books.
I guess I'll leave you two alone. I'll be waiting in the
car." Matt said, looking over at some teenager that was
buying "Extreme" before he walked over to the kid.
Nora quickly walked over to Shane who was totally engaged in the
comic that he was reading. He looked up to see Nora standing
there before he rolled his eyes. Before Nora could even speak,
Shane tossed the comic to the stand, grabbed Nora and led her out
of the store.
"Didn't I tell you not to look for me?!"
"I know what you said but I was going mad. I had to see you.
I just want to talk to you if that's alright." Nora said,
reaching out her hand only to get it pushed away by Shane.
"Well, it isn't alright. I told you not to look for me. I
don't feel like being nice to anybody. I just want to be left
alone! I already know I'm fucked up and I don't need you to
remind me!" Shane yelled before he left Nora standing there
feeling terrible, to go find his car.
