Untitled Normal Page

September 1997

Amy finished stuffing the last suitcase into the Back of her 1995 Honda Civic. Her mother stood at the door trying to fight back the tears she knew were coming. Amy slammed the Trunk of the Car and walked up to her mother. Amy could tell her mother didn't really like this Idea, but she had no way of stopping Amy.

"Well, that's everything" Amy stated stuffing her hands into her back pockets, Parts of her needed to leave and Fragments begged to stay. A war Amy was waging inside her heart and soul. "Yea that would be everything" Her mother replied bringing a Tissue up to her eye and wiping away and small tear that had begun its long fall down her face.

Amy wrapped her finger around her long Auburn hair and struggled herself to hold tears back, How could I do something to bring my Mother to tears, She asked herself looking down at her mother. Here was the Women that Amy knew only to be strong, She was now breaking down in front of her Only Daughter. "It'll be ok Mom" Amy whispered walking into hug her mother tightly.

Her mother hugged her back, almost refusing to let go, Her baby girl was leaving, Leaving her to go across the Country to a Place she had never been to before, With people she didn't know, that spoke a Language she had only a High School Knowledge of, How on earth could this be all right. She couldn't say that to Amy, she just had to Agree with her. "I know Amy, I know" Cheryl her mother stated letting go of her Twenty-two year old Daughter.

"So I guess this is Good-bye" Amy replied stepping back and looking towards her car, she didn't know how long she could go without bursting into tears. "Yea Amy it is" Her Mother whispered wiping her eyes again and tucking the Tissue back into her pocket. "I'll call you when I stopped for the night" Amy said as she walked towards the car and slowly opened the front door. "Drive safely" Cheryl reminded her as she watched Amy get into the car and start the Engine.

"Good-bye Amy" Cheryl whisper and forced tears back as Amy pulled out of the Drive way, Amy waved to her mother and Drove slowly down the Street. When Amy was out of her sight Cheryl broke down, Finally her tears were able to flow freely. After about Ten Minutes Cheryl sighed and walked back towards the House and Shut the Door, The house would be a lot more Quieter, no more loud Music to wake her up at night.

Cheryl walked slowly up the steps and turned right trudging into Amy's room, She looked around inside of the room, that held tightly so many of Amy's fondest times as a Child, Her first steps were in this Room, Her first crush was called in here. Her life changed in this Room, This was where she first saw Wrestling on Television, One show and she was hooked, and Now she is leaving to Mexico.

Cheryl shook her head and still couldn't believe it. She sat down on the Bare bed she had stripped early in the day, "Well Amy's I guess you're out to prove me wrong" Cheryl muttered thinking back on how she used to tease Amy about how Wrestling for the WWF was just a far off dream.

*In the Car*

Amy drove down Route 27 leaving the Home she knew, and the people she loved. Maybe she was Crazy about thinking she could get into the WWF, but she couldn't stop the Visions of standing on the Turnbuckle, This idea had buried itself in her head, Driving her to leave her home. "It's now or Never Ames" she told herself as she crossed the border leaving Florida and entering Louisiana.

She had been driving for An hour already, the Time had been flying by she was barely able to remember any signs as she past them, She turned on the Radio and flipped through the Stations trying to find one that would come in clear, Finally she found a Song, she turned the Radio up humming along as she drove further down the Highway.

It was getting late, the Sun was beginning to fade behind the Valleys, Amy looked down at her watch, It was already Eight O'clock, She pulled into another Lane, and watched for A rest stop. Amy saw an Exit marking for a Small hotel and pulled into the Exit Lane, She drove off the Exit Ramp and found herself on a small Country Road, in what looked like the Middle of no where.

After about Ten Minutes she found the Small Hotel which looked more like a House them a Hotel but Amy pulled into the Parking lot. Only about Ten Cars dotted the Parking lot. She pulled into the Nearest stop and grabbed her Bookbag. She walked into the Main Office of the Hotel. The office was small, with Shallow pink walls, it reminded her of home.

She signed into the Hotel for the Night and walked onto an Elevator, She pressed the Bottom of the Third floor. She walked down the Dimly lit Hallway and stopped at her Room. She placed the Key in the Knob and opened the door, The room inside was again Shallow Pink with a Dark Red Carpet, not exactly her choice of color, but it would do. She laid her bag down on the Bed and walked over to the Phone, Remembering her promise to call her mother.
