Mon. 04/16/01 - Knoxville, TN - 7:30 pm
Stephanie told me that I would be getting a title shot at Backlash, but there was a problem with that, I had told Vince earlier in the day that I would be taking the week off for Midterms the week of Backlash.
"So, what do you want to do? I mean the writers are desperate to give Ice a world title shot." Steph asked
"Why not just push the title shot to the next night on Raw?" I asked
"How has dad thought up explaining your disappearance?" Steph asked
"Injury" I replied. After I rounded a corner walking away from Steph, I ran smack into one of my classmates, a guy named Spencer Strudevant.
I relayed the events of my meeting with Stephanie to Spence and he sympathized, he was a sophomore in high school, I was a senior. We then met up with Ashley and Andrea, who also brought along a few friends. Ashley brought the McKinney sisters; Andrea brought Michelle Sanders and Staci Miner. I pointed to a nearby monitor, Raw was starting, we all split up and went to our separate dressing rooms, Ashley to the RTC, Andrea to Undertaker and Kane, and myself to the outside with the Hardys, my classmates wandered around the arena.
Vince did a promo to start Raw; I didn't pay attention to it. After the first match, cameras caught the Hardys and I entering, after Jeff spoke I piped up "Triple H, hell is coming for you for what you did last week." We then went to our dressing rooms and waited.
Dani McKinney and Staci Miner joined us in time to see Steven Richards do his promo for the RTC in which he challenged Kane for the Hardcore Title. I turned to Staci and said, "I guess Andrea is up next." She shrugged and looked at the monitor, we saw Matt Hardy attack Stonecold, who then "left the building".
Kane vs. Steven Richards
Kane quickly took the match out of the ring and into the loading docks, the rest of the RTC including Ivory and Ashley attacked Kane, the girls were then promptly shoved on their butts. There was a truck parked behind this brawl, the doors opened and Andrea and Undertaker came out, which got a pop from the crowd, Andrea his Val Venis with a chair that she had, then laid out Ivory and Ashley.
Kane then grabbed Steven and threw him into a truck head first, then pinned him. All three laughed at their fallen opponents.
Staci was cheering the whole time, Spence, Stephanie McKinney and Michelle Sanders joined us during the match. A few minutes later Andrea and Ashley joined us, a camera crew followed behind them, which was my classmates cue to leave, I had a promo to do with the Hardys.
"Lita, don't worry, I'll watch your back" was all I said, hyping the Jeff Hardy vs. Triple H re-match. I then joined my classmates in the green room.
The camera then showed Matt, Amy, Jeff and I all walking toward the ring, only to be stopped by Commissioner Regal, he told us that we were banned from ringside, we huddled, then I decked him.
Jeff Hardy vs. Triple H - WWF Intercontinental Title
Triple H controlled Jeff for most of the match. I sat in the gorilla position and watched, and much to my surprise, Andrea came in. "I thought you were done for tonight?"
"Nope, We're not done" Andrea replied. We then turned back to the monitor and saw Stonecold attack Matt Hardy, and then run out to the ring, my cue was to wait for Matt Hardy and run out together. Triple H pinned Jeff, with Stonecold's help, Matt and I ran out to the ring together… and both got nailed with chairs. I heard Triple H whisper to me "Good luck on Mid-terms" then hit me with a chair; this was how I was getting time off for my tests. Stephanie then threw Lita into the ring, the arena lights darkened and "Rollin'" hit, I turned over and saw, Undertaker, Kane and Andrea walking to ringside.
After everything went down, we were helped to the back; Ashley and Andrea still had Smackdown to go to tomorrow. My other classmates and I flew back home.
Tue. 04/17/01 - Centralia High School - 9:30 am
I was sitting in Mr. Roberts English class when my cell phone rang, it interrupted the whole class, I checked the caller ID, it was Andrea. "This better be important Brandon" Mr. Roberts said. "It is, it's Andrea," I said.
"Hello" I said, then pulled the phone back from my ear because Andrea was screaming so loud. Once she calmed down she said that Stephanie was pushing her in the Women's Division, which I relayed to the class. Once I hung up, Mr. Roberts and the class asked me a lot of questions about the wrestling industry in general, we never did finish the assignment.
I also told the class that, for Backlash, I was bringing some Fastpitch and Baseball players to the event.
Thu. 04/19/01 - Ashley's House - 8:00 pm
We were watching Smackdown from Ashley's house because, well, it was her turn. Smackdown was in Nashville, TN.
Regal came out first and called out Undertaker and Kane, they came out with Andrea; Regal said Kane would defend the Hardcore Title against Rhyno.
Kane vs. Rhyno - WWF Hardcore Title
Edge and Christian interfered in the match, and got Undertaker and Andrea away from ringside, Undertaker fighting Edge and Andrea fighting Christian. Stonecold and Triple H attacked Kane and cost him the hardcore title. 'taker and Andrea returned and ran them away from ringside.
RTC vs. APA and Kaientai
Ivory and Ashley came to ringside, but never got involved. The RTC lost.
Andrea, and the brothers were shown backstage, they asked some workers where Regal's office was, they were pointed in the right direction, Andrea then said "Call 911, Regal's gong to need it." Undertaker smiled and said to Kane "..And you wonder why I liker her." They found Regal's office, the brothers surrounded Regal, while Andrea sat on his desk and pressed her boot against his neck. Regal then made the match for later tonight Edge and Christian vs. Kane and Undertaker.
Andrea then spoke up "The match I want, I don't need your approval for, I've gone above you, you see at Backlash, I've got the match, Andrea vs. Lita vs. Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, for the number one contenders spot for the Women's Title, orders of Linda McMahon." They then left Regal's office laughing, Kane set Regal's desk on fire. Nothing happened for the rest of the night.
Undertaker and Kane vs. Edge and Christian - WWF Tag Team Titles
Andrea stayed out of the way for most of the match, Triple H and Stonecold attacked Kane while Undertaker pinned Edge to win the Tag Titles for his team.
Sun. 04/29/01 - Chicago, IL - Backlash - 5:00 pm.
I took that week off to take midterms for the school; I finished them and now am making my return for Backlash. Like I promised I did bring some Baseball players, from the girls team Eleah Tomei, Nicole Gussin, Jeneka Norman and Jayme Putman and from the boys team Devon LeBaron, Cody Grubbs, Brycen Wesen and Kris Doyle, the McKinneys also came along.
Jeff dyed my hair all white, I think he did a good job. Stephanie also pulled some strings because my new music is "Between Angels and Insects" by Papa Roach. The matches for tonight were as follows: Ashley vs. Ivory; Andrea vs. Lita vs. Stephanie McMahon Helmsley. I was simply doing a run-in.
I was also dealt a double blow when Nora broke up with me, from my perspective, for no reason at all. Second, was Stephanie calling me into her office and telling me that I had to make a choice about graduation and what I was going to do.
Ashley vs. Ivory
Ivory came out in her RTC gear, Ashley came out in a pair of Tiger skin pants and a black shirt with a Tiger's head on it. Her entrance music was "Awake" by Godsmack. Ashley has gotten meaner in the ring since leaving the RTC; she made Ivory bleed and won with the 'Tiger Bomb'
After this match I dozed off for about 30-40 minutes, Triple H and Nicole Gussin woke me up. "You better get ready, the match is starting soon" Nicole replied. "Thanks, Mrs. Triple H" Nicole laughed and Triple H walked off to join Stonecold.
Triple H and Stonecold vs. Undertaker and Kane
Andrea came out during this match, she stayed out of the match until Vince came out, she jumped him, but did not see Triple H come from behind, he threw Andrea into the guard rail, then Stephanie went crazy attacking her. Vince cost undertaker and Kane the match and the Tag Team Titles.
Stone cold, Triple H and Vince were celebrating when "Between Angels and Insects" hit the PA, they did not see Ice, but he attacked them with a chair, knocking all of them out. Ice then grabbed Stonecold's WWF Title and held it up while standing on his body, the crowd erupted.
I came backstage with the belt 'Get a picture quick" I said. Eleah grabbed her camera and snapped a few pics of me with the belt, when Stone cold came backstage I handed it to him. Paul soon followed, soon following him were Andrea, Mark and Glenn. Paul went up to Nicole and hi-fived her. "Soon, you'll be in the ring with us, Nicole" I said, Paul looked at me and smiled, then put his arm around Nicole and said "Yeah, coming soon to a WWF ring near you, the female version of 'The Game' ' Everyone laughed, soon we all left the arena, and my classmates flew home.
Mon. 04/30/01 - Raw Taping - Milwaukee, WI - 8:00 pm
There were going to be a lot of interesting matches and surprises tonight; Ashley vs. Andrea vs. Lita for the #1 contender spot for the Women's Title; plus the fact that Linda McMahon was hosting at WWF NY, this should be fun.
Ashley vs. Andrea vs. Lita
Andrea was selling the 'beating' she took last night at the hands of Steph. Andrea tried a thrust kick at Ashley, but hit Lita; Ashley threw Andrea out, and covered Lita 1-2-3. Ashley is the number one contender.
I just got off the phone with Cody Grubbs; he said the weather in Centralia sucks. I then got another call from Linda McMahon, we went over the storyline, and we both knew what we wanted for this storyline.
Matt Hardy vs. Edge - WWF European Title
I watched this one from my dressing room. Christian tried to interfere, Jeff stopped it and Matt won.
Andrea then came into the gorilla position, just after I got there, she came in with, get this… Rhyno. "You're getting involved in another match again aren't you?" She just smiled and said "Watch".
Matt joined me for the next match Rhyno vs. Chris Jericho
Rhyno nailed Chris Jericho with a spear, then the crowd popped as out of nowhere came Andrea; she hit Rhyno with a steel chair, hard, so hard it bent. She then covered him, 1-2-3.
"Your winner and new WWF Hardcore Champion, Andrea"
Matt and I looked at each other stunned, "Damn, first female Hardcore champion' I said "They must really be pushing her" Matt replied. I hi-fived her as she came backstage.
Linda came on screen from WWF NY as Vince, Stonecold and Triple H were doing their promo. Linda said that I would replace Kane in the title match tonight.
Cody and Eleah called me back, they said they just saw what happened, and had called the entire softball team, everyone was watching. Later we saw Ashley challenge Chyna for the Women's title.
Ice vs. Stonecold - WWF TITLE MATCH
Stonecold was in total control until Undertaker came down and choke slammed him and put me on top of him. 1-2-3.
"Your winner and new WWF Champion, ICE"
That was how that night ended
