February 2000-Seattle, WA- Key Arena- 6:15 p.m.
I was sitting in the audience in Key Arena watching WWF Smackdown. I was marking out all night. It was a good time.
10:50 p.m.
I checked to see if I had enough change to make the phone call home. I did. It was the last match so I decided to call home.
2/3/00 Midnight
I was walking around Key Arena's parking lot, my mother had not yet arrived. I hoped I could meet some wrestlers, and to my luck I saw a limo. There were 15 people attacking someone, I saw that someone...it was Vince McMahon. My martial arts instincts took over. I sprung into action; I knocked out 2 of them immediately. Within five minutes everyone was either running away or knocked out.
I went over to check on Vince, other than a bloody nose, he was okay. "Thank you son." He said. He got up and dusted himself off then continued. "If there is anything I can do for you, just name it."
At first, I was shocked, anything I wanted, Vince could make it happen, I could think of a thousand things I wanted, and I don't know what possessed me to say this but.... "I wanna wrestle for the WWF."
2/3/00 11:30am Centralia High School Commons.
I live in a small town outside of Seattle called Centralia. I was sitting in the commons of Centralia High School eating lunch with my friends, telling them what had happened. Aleph Craven, one of my friends said, "So now you have a one year contract with the WWF, and your actually considering not signing it?" "I don't know why I asked for it though," I said. "Dude, you'll be totally famous." Aleph's girlfriend Dianne said. I looked around and thought about it. "All right, I'll do it." I said. Aleph handed me a pen and I signed the contract.
2/4/00-3:30pm My apartment in Centralia, WA
"Mr. McMahon, I signed the contract." I said as I chatted with him on the phone.
"Great, you do know that you are making history right?" He asked.
"Of course, I know I am making history, being the youngest pro wrestler in history, at age 16." I said.
"Actually you will be 17 when you have your first match..." Vince replied. "...You'll also have to get a crash course in wrestling and do dark matches too."
"I know, I'm ready." I said.
Eight Months later... Albany, NY 10/20/00 7:30pm
I am sitting here in the crowd of No Mercy, waiting for my cue, I am what we in the business call a plant. I'm not going to bore you with the details of the eight months of training, but I'll make a long story short... Matt and Jeff Hardy and Amy Dumas trained me, and because I was a special case, being a martial artist, I only wrestled in dark matches from August to October, tonight was my on-camera debut.
I easily stand out in the crowd with my newly dyed blue and white hair, compliments of Manic Panic hair dye and Mr. Jeff Hardy, but truth be told I like my new hair.
My angle was that I was playing Lita's little brother, I didn't even know my name, but I would get to have an angle with my trainers.
The Hardys were fighting Los Conquistadors and I knew exactly what it was I was supposed to do.
Jason (Christian) hit the "unprettier" on Matt and won the match and the Tag Team Titles. That was my cue, I jumped the guard rail and attacked Adam and Jason, the ensuing brawl lasted a few minutes, then Adam speared me, we had practiced and scripted this several times, but something went wrong this time. I landed wrong and dislocated my shoulder.
