Matt and Jeff helped me backstage. I don't remember much about it, all I do remember is Adam repeatedly apologizing to me, but the fact was apparent, I was going to be out of action for a while.
10/22/00 Centralia, WA 12:20 P.M.
I'm sitting here is Mrs. Thomas' English class nursing my shoulder. I don't get it, suddenly I'm Mr. Popular, I screw up in the ring and I'm loved by my school for it.
I was backstage for Raw and Smackdown, Matt and Jeff got the Tag Team Titles back by posing as the "conquistadores" , after the match Lita attacked Edge, she grabbed a mic and said "That was for what you did to my little brother Ice." So I guess Ice is my name now.
Vince called me at about 7:00 A.M. this morning and basically told me to take as much time off as I needed.
10/23/00 Providence Hospital Centralia, WA 1:30 P.M.
My doctor is examining my shoulder, from what he tells me, it's pretty bad.
2:15 P.M.
I placed a call to Vince saying what the doctor told me, I was going to need surgery. Needless to say, Vince wasn't happy. Adam got fined $10,000, and Vince told me that this would put off my in ring debut.
11/01/00 Harborview Medical Center Operating Room Seattle, WA 2:15 P.M.
The day of my operation, Matt, Jeff, Amy, Jason and Adam are here, their going to watch the operation. Uh-oh, here comes the gas mask.
11/02/00 Harborview Medical Center Recovery Ward Seattle, WA 4:15 A.M.
I'm awake, and the first person I see is, strangely, Stephanie McMahon. "Where is everyone else ?" I ask, very groggy. She smiles. "Their at the hotel, sleeping." She replied.
We spent the next few hours chatting, getting to know each other, she educated me on the business, and we discussed future angles. At about Noon, The Hardys, Adam, Jason and Amy came in, we all chatted most of the day.
Word had gotten back to the school that I was awake and I swear about half the school came to se me, including all of my teachers who came bearing homework (big surprise). Some didn't stay long, only a few of my friends stayed, Ross Reichert, Eleah Tomei, Cody Grubbs, Kyle Lipinski, Casey Parker and Nicole Gussin all stayed into the night. Stephanie stayed there too, even when my friends had to leave.
Stephanie was super-nice to my friends, but Ross let it slip that I practiced Witchcraft, but Stephanie was tolerant, shocked but tolerant. I was released from the hospital the next day, loaded up with painkillers. My injury was not going to keep me off of TV.
12/05/00- Smackdown taping 9:24 P.M.
I was doing color commentary for the first part of the night. For some reason I kept thinking how lucky I was. Vince smoothed things over with Mr. Bender my school's principal. Mr. Bender gave me Mondays and Tuesdays off for Raw and Smackdown. I cut a promo for Armageddon, where I was making my return/debut:
"Oh sweet home Alabama we're coming home to you. Castrol GTX presents WWF Armageddon, Castrol GTX, Drive Hard. Armageddon comes to you live on December the 10, from the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center in Birmingham, Alabama"
I then left because the Hardys, Lita and I had a promo to do. The promo saw Lita in a hotel room with Dean Malenko, the lights went out, when they came back on Matt, busted a champagne bottle over Dean's head, Jeff hit him with a lamp, I took a few cheap shots. When Matt flipped the bed over Dean, I spoke up, "Hey Dean, if you want to get to the big sister, you have to get through the little brother, how about you put your title on the line against me at Armageddon?" Malenko moaned in agreement.
