PART FOUR OF "FRIENDS OR LOVERS"

Untitled Normal Page

We all were staying at Holiday Inn that night. They had given all of us exclusive suites, courtsey of the managment at Holiday Inn and Linda McMahon. I finally had gotten some rest that I really needed. I had called Linda and told her thank you personally. She said she knew that we were all tired so she got everyone exclusive suites. I had spent most of my day talking to Andrew. We had to discuss the future of T&A. Andrew was very professional. He said he enjoyed me being his manager. We had a lot of fun. The WWF writers put me with a new tag team because they wanted to help Test and Albert's careers. So they put me with T&A but now Amy is with Matt and Jeff. I missed accompaning my baby to the ring but work is work. We had to follow the scripts we were given. I was walking to Adam's room to ask him about Jason. Allanah couldn't be with him this week because she had to visit her mother. I knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" Adam said.

"Trish." I replied.

Adam opened the door and let me in.

"Adam, I gotta ask you something."

"I know what you're gonna say. Yes, Jason asked me about you."

Adam had knew me for ten years. He knew what I was gonna say before I said it.

"What did he say?"

"He was crying, Trish. He said he's scared that he'll lose Denise because he realized that he missed you. He said he was jealous that day he saw you with Jeff."

"I miss him too, Adam."

"I know. Stacey told me about your conversation with her. Everything you said to her was just about the same things he said to me. He said he regrets leaving you the way he did and saying the things he said. Jay said the only problem was that you guys didn't say goodbye."

"Well, what about that day he was so rude to me when I asked him if he still loved me?"

"He said said he didn't know how to deal with that question. He wanted to say yes but he fought the feeling. He also wanted you to get out because he thought Denise might of heard you two talking."

"He didn't tell her about our engagement?"

"No, he said he was going to but Trish, you know Jason. You know how much he loves Denise. He doesn't want to lose her the way he lost you. You need to talk about Jeff about all this."

"I know. I had to talk to you first, Adam. I just don't know how Jeff will react."

"Trish, you know Jeff is gonna be calm about it. He told me you already told him about the engagement so he shouldn't get mad."

"I hope so, Adam."

I got up, kissed Adam on the cheek and told him thank you for his advice to tell Allanah I said hi. I walked to Jeff's room but when I went in, he wasn't there. So I went to Matt's room and knocked on the door. Amy answered.

"You're staying here?" I asked.

"Yeah, with my baby."

"I should've known. Where's Matt?"

"Him and Jeff are talking to Stephanie, Shane and Vince about something. They should be done by now. I'll walk with you down to Vince's room."

"Okay."

"I overheard Jeff talking to Matt. You didn't tell me you used to be engaged to Jason."

"Yeah, I used to be engaged to him."

"Jeff said he hoped you didn't still have feelings for Jason because he said he wanted to be with you forever."

"Jeff said that?"

"Yeah, it was so sweet."

"I know. Well, let me ask you something."

"What?"

"How's Matt treating you?"

"Girl, I've never been so happy in my life! Matt knows how to treat a lady... especially in the bedroom."

I laughed.

"So you and Matt went all the way, huh?"

"Yeah and it was good. I love that boy."

"Well, I hope it lasts, Amy."

"Oh, it's gonna last. I gurantee you that. We love each other too much to be apart anyway."

Just about when we were gonna knock on Vince's door, Stephanie opened the door.

"Just the two ladies I wanted to see. Come on in."

Everyone was in Mr. McMahon's room. Brian, Scott, Andrew, Jay, Matt, Jeff and Adam were all there. Denise was there too. We sat down next to Matt and Jeff. Jeff put his arm around me. Jay and I had eye contact for a second but Jay turned away.

"Good afternoon, ladies. I just wanted to inform you with some news. Edge & Christian, Too Cool, The Hardy Boyz, and T&A are the most popular teams in the World Wrestling Federation right now. These teams are very talented too and since Amy and you manage The Hardy Boyz and T&A, you needed to be here to witness this too." Vince said.

"Witnees what, Mr. McMahon?" Amy asked.

"I'm putting all these tag teams in a Four Way Elimination Match for the Tag Team Titles at King Of The Ring. These eight men have proven that they're very talented and in this match, they can show all their talent."

"So everyone's cool with this?" I asked.

"I talked to them before you and Amy got here and they said they're willing to do it. It's not like it's a big match or something. We're just doing it to promote Amy's new involvment with Matt & Jeff and to start a feud with you two. So are you okay with this?" Vince said.

"I don't have a problem with it as long as they don't get it hurt." I said.

"We'll tell you who will win and it's up to the participants to do the rest." Shane said.

"Okay, it's fine with me." Amy said.

"Alright." I said.

"Brian, Scott, Andrew, we need to speak to you for a minute." Stephanie said.

"Excuse us." Shane said.

Brian, Scott and Andrew left the room with the McMahons. Adam whispered something into Matt, Amy and Denise's ears. They nodded and they all walked to the door except Denise. Jason was gonna leave with them but Adam stopped him.

"Jason, you need to stay here and talk to Trish. This whole thing is between you and Trish but now, Jeff and Denise have to get involved. So sit down, be a man and straighten this out."

I was shocked at what he said but then again, that was the man that Adam was and he sounded serious. Jason was reluctant at first but he sat back down. They left the room. For a minute, we all were quiet but I couldn't stand the silence.

"Look, I know about your conversation with Adam."

"So he told you, huh?" Jason looked mad but he didn't look surprised.

"Look, we both miss each other. So what's the problem?"

"Trish, I don't know why I'm jealous of you and Jeff but we shouldn't have said the things we said that day. I left you without saying goodbye and when I did leave, I still had love for you. We had some good times, Trish."

It was all coming out now. He was starting to open up but I looked at Jeff and realized something.

"It may seem hard for us but it's hard for Denise and Jeff too."

"It sure is, sweetie. I mean, when you say you miss her, I feel that you might leave me for her." Denise said.

"Same for me too, Trish. I don't want to lose you." Jeff said.

My eyes started to get watery.

"Trish, I just have one question." Denise said.

I looked at Denise.

"Are you and Jason friends or lovers?"

I started to cry. I was so confused.

"I don't know." I said as I started to cry.

Jeff grabbed me and held me in his arms. He comforted me.

"It's okay, Trish. It's okay. I'm here. I'm not going anywhere."

Jason took Jeff's arms off of me.

"Let me comfort her. She needs me now."

Jeff nodded.

"Look, man, we've been good friends ever since Matt and I got in this
business. I realize you and Trish miss each other but can you promise
Denise and myself something?"

"Sure, Jeff."

"Promise me that I won't lose Trish and promise Denise that she won't lose you. If you can promise us that, then we don't need to be here. Denise and I are only making it harder for you and Trish to deal with this situation."

Jeff was so considerate of mine and Jason's feelings. I loved him so much.

"I promise you, Jeff, on my life that we will always be together, I love
you." I said.

I pulled Jeff in my arms and kissed him.

"I promised you with that ring, Denise, that I would never ever leave you no
matter what. I love you." He said as he started to kiss her.

"You two just straighten things out. Jason Reso, don't you dare hurt her or
I'll kill you with my bare hands." Jeff said.

"Same for you, Trish." Denise said.

"I won't hurt her, Jeff. I already did that before. I won't do it again."

Jason shook Jeff's hand. I shook Denise's hand. They left the room. Now, it was just me and him. The room was filled with silence. We just looked in each other's eyes. He got up and took my hand.

"Trish, I apologize for leaving you that day. I shouldn't have left without
saying goodbye."

"It was my fault. I shouldn't have over reacted but the question remains, are we friends or lovers?"

"We're not friends. Maybe this can answer your question."

He sat beside me and kissed me. His tongue went into my mouth. I didn't know what to do. I wanted to push him away but then I realized, now we were finally saying goodbye. As Jason was kissing me (and as I was enjoying it,) I was wondering if we saying goodbye or hello. This kiss is what I've always wanted ever since he left me that day. Damn, he knew how to kiss. I pulled away.

"We're not lovers nor friends, we're best friends."

"So now, I got another question for you...are we saying goodbye or hello?"

"Goodbye."

I smiled. This whole thing was finally over.

"Is it over?"

"Yeah, it's over. We're not friends, we're not lovers... we're best friends."

"I'll always love you, man."

"Same here."

I gave him a hug. It was a shame that our relationship couldn't last. It
could've have been a good one. If I wasn't with Jeff and if he wasn't with
Denise, I'm pretty sure we would have given our relationship another try.
Times had changed.

"Now, tell me when is the wedding."

"I guess you should know if you're gonna be a bridesmaid."

"Are you serious? Thanks, man! I love weddings. Can Jeff be a
groomsmen?"

"Sure. The wedding's gonna be sometime in 2001, probably in May, since that's Denise's birthday."

"Cool. Can I ask you something?"

"Sure, go ahead."

"Do you think Jeff and I will last?"

"Duh! Of course you will. I think we learned from the mistakes we made in
our relationship is to not make them again. I mean, I'm engaged to Denise. I'm pretty sure you'll be engaged to Jeff sooner or later." He replied.

"You really think so?"

"Yeah."

"I hope you're right. I love Jeff so much. It really hurt for me to have to
put him through all this drama. He didn't deserve it. He's so good to me.
I would love to spend the rest of my life with him."

"I'll tell him you said that."

"Don't tell him! Time will tell."

We laughed. I realized that he and I were best friends and nothing was gonna change that. Still, the emptiness for missing him would never end.

"We needed to have this conversation, Trish."

"I know and I couldn't be more happier." I said.

We got up and walked to the door. We hugged one last time. This was finally goodbye. Now, we would be going our separate ways, the right way. There was no longer a question to if he and I were friends or lovers. We were best friends.

"If you need anything, I'm here." He said.

"I know. That's why I fell in love with you four years ago."

"I love you too, Trish."

I opened the door and walked to Jeff's room and Jason walked the other way to his room. Right before, I opened the door, I whispered to myself.

"Thank God this is over."
