Amy looked over
to the door as she heard it open. Matt had awakened her when he
left to get something from the vending machine so she had been
watching Cartoon Network ever since he departed from the room. A
feeling of curiosity arose inside of her when she saw that Matt
looked kind of sad. The two of them had just hooked up a few
hours ago so she couldn't figure out any reason he had to be
upset.
"What's wrong, Matt?" Amy asked, motioning for him to
lay next to her.
"I saw Trish." He replied as he laid beside her.
"Did she say something to you?" She asked again, as a
little anger began to flow throughout her body at the sound of
hearing Trish's name.
"She sure did, she told me that she made a mistake when she
kissed Shannon and that she just wants to be friends with me
again. She doesn't want us to part on bad terms."
"What was your response to this?"
"I told her that she knew I loved her and that she was the
one who wanted me in the first place. I asked her, why would she
screw the whole relationship up by kissing him. Then, she told
her side of the story. She didn't lie to me at all."
"What do you mean?"
"She said she enjoyed the kiss but that didn't mean she
would do it again. An apology was the next thing to come out of
her mouth and that we've had too many good times together for us
not to have some kind of relationship with each other. She kissed
my cheek and walked away."
"So what are you gonna do?"
"I'll think about it. We're all human, we make mistakes and
Trish was woman enough to admit that."
"You're doing it again, Matt. You are falling for her
tricks. She's just trying to break us up. Can't you see
that?"
"What do you mean she's trying to break us up? She doesn't
even know that we're together. We haven't even told anyone about
it yet."
"Don't underestimate her. She just wants the attention that
you're giving me. Why in the hell would you think about trusting
her again after what she's done to you?"
"First of all, I never said that I would trust her again.
Second, why are you getting so defensive? How can you even talk
about trust? From the way you're acting, it seems that you don't
trust me. You think I'm gonna end up with Trish again, don't
you?"
"I never said that..."
"No! Don't say anything else. Grow up, Amy. You should be
mature enough to know that I wouldn't do anything to hurt you.
You don't believe in me at all. Since that's the case...talk to
me again when you feel comfortable enough to trust me and to
accept the fact that Trish will never be more than a friend to me
after the shit she pulled." Matt said before he got up,
picked up his suitcase and left the room for the second time.
He took the elevator to the hotel lobby where he retreated to the
car. He tossed his stuff into the trunk and got into the vehicle.
He took out his cell phone and dialed Shane's number, hoping to
get some of his advice about the situation he was in.
"Hey man, what's up?" Shane answered.
"How did you know it was me?"
"Caller ID, that's one of the many features with my new
phone."
"Well, I was calling because I need your advice. It's about
the women in my life. They're going crazy on me."
"Alright, I'm listening."
"I told you about Trish and what she pulled with Shannon.
After that, Amy offered her understanding and really made me feel
better. The next thing I know, I'm asking her to go back out with
me."
"What did she say?"
"She said yeah but I'm not finished. I left the room we were
sleeping in to go get me a drink and on my way to the vending
machine, I happen to see Trish. What made it worse was that she
was wearing nothing but a robe over her bra and panties."
"Oh, shit. You lucky bastard, did you two talk?"
"She apologized for what she did and asked me to consider
the two of us being friends in the future. I told Amy about it
and she went off. She accused me of falling for her tricks and
that she was trying to break us up. That made me feel like she
didn't trust me so I just left Amy to herself. What do you think
I should do? Should I let Trish be my friend? Was I wrong for
leaving Amy?"
"I would let Trish prove that she really wanted my
friendship. She would have to prove herself first before I could
feel comfortable enough to call her my friend. As far as Amy, I
would cool off for a little while since you seem to be very
upset. Then, I would be very calm about it and comfront her to
see if she really thought that I would cheat on her."
"Shane, you're the best counselor I never had. You tell me
what I want to hear. I guess I just needed to hear someone else
say it. Thanks man. I will keep you updated."
"I know you will. Take care."
With that, Matt hung up the phone and figured that he should just
sleep in the car since he didn't feel like getting up anymore. He
wanted his mind to be at peace for a few hours of the night. It
would definitely prepare him for tomorrow.
